When 3 weeks ago I introduced you to the Confederate “P120 Fighter Combat” I reported that it was scheduled to be unveiled for the first time to the press and public this very weekend Friday, August 14th at the Quail Motorsports Gathering during the 2009 Pebble Beach Car Week, and then be offered for auction at the “Mid America” sale the following day. (To register to bid and for more information about the auction this weekend in Carmel, California visit Mid America Auctions).
Now Confederate tells me that the model being unveiled, “Arabic 01”, is the only pre-production P120 Combat edition Fighter in existence and will also be campaigned as a factory machine for a world speed record at the Bonneville Salt Flats between August 30th and September 6th in the 2009 BUB Speed Trials.
This new machine incorporates a massive 120ci motor (1966cc) into a lightweight aluminum frame, producing an astounding 145 ft/lbs of torque and 160 rear wheel horsepower. So, the likelihood of success for the “Fighter Combat” is highly probable. FYI I remind you that Confederate currently holds a 2008 AMA world speed record with its B120 Wraith. Only 25 (“Arabic 01-25”) P120 Combat edition Fighters will be built and delivered to their respective owners beginning November 30th at the pace of two per month, at which point the book will be closed forever. President Matt Chambers estimates that the retail cost of a Fighter Combat (#02-25) will be $75,000. Confederate Motor Company
In several areas Confederate continues to push the envelope. This machine is more impressive in person than pictures represent. This is a purpose built motorcycle, with the primary consideration being function. Very impressive work!
The Confederate bikes are like a fine time piece on two wheels. I’m amazed every time I see one.
The modern Brough- excellent stuff….. Their resale prices say it all.
