It’s A Buell. Kind Of…

A very sick bike that required a major surgery done by Kevin Boyle owner of Massachusetts based The V-Twin Motorcycle Medic. This one was started after the 25th anniversary bagger Kevin built for Sumax, the powdercoating expert. Seduced by the advantages of powdercoat over paint and not inclined to have a lot or even a little bit of chrome to clean after each ride, Kevin Boyle decided to have Sumax powdercoat everything possible. And almost everything can be powdercoated on a motorcycle…Result? No paint (except the pinstriping) and no chromed parts on this project.

Medic Kevin assisted by parts nurse (and wife) Sara, decided to use a very radical Redneck Engineering frame (Mutant model) with an extreme 51-degree of rake, 2” backbone stretch and minus 2” in the down tubes, in which he installed a year 1995 Buell S2 motor (1203 cc) equipped with Keith Black high compression pistons and the original factory Buell transmission. Body work was bought from Redneck engineering but all steel was massaged to Kevin’s taste and highly polished before to be sent with many other parts to Sumax for strong coats of powdercoating in sparkling copper and tuxedo black.

Treatment also included a one-off 2 into 1 wrapped exhaust, a beefy 56mm inverted front end from MeanStreet Products, a BDL open belt primary system, JayBrake hand controls installed on Carlini bars, a bad ass seat (upholstery by Shirley Zannel) supported by a single Progressive Suspension shock. Wheels are 21 x 3.25” (front), 18 x 5.5” (rear) ordered from Ride Wright Wheels and rolling on Metzeler tires.

Kevin tells me that this 9 foot long Buell handles right and is good for trips in 250 mile stints, more than what most bikers do every day. And by the way, he would like to raise some money to start a new project. So, if you are interested, ask for the Medic 413- 442-1616. The V-Twin Motorcycle Medic (pictures courtesy K. & S. Boyle)

What a great looking Bike. You have done a World Class Job! Your concept with the Powder Coating should be very well conceived in the Business. I have seen the first Redneck Buell Built Bike in Daytona, about 5 or 6 years ago. I thought this was a Winner, except they didn’t have the Seat Shock system as your version makes a Huge difference. I don’t think Redneck has done many of these Buell/Redneck Bikes! I am sure that they are happy to see your Progress!

That thing is way cool. I think his only loss is that his wife can’t enjoy the ride with him!

Met with Kevin and the lovely Sara in Cinnci a few years ago while working for our Parent company. They are both the most straight up people. if you are in their area you don’t have to think twice about doing business with them, they are the best. Ya,ya the m/c is meticulous and beautiful but that’s how they do things at Motorcycle Medic, it is the way they do things and the way they treat you that will keep you coming back for more.
    P.S. This not a paid advertisement. L.O.L.

I like the bike with exception of the rims not a fan of these types of rims. Overall though it holds up well. I also like the look of the bike with it completely powder coated everything matches.

    Great job guys.

Fenders and gas tank are of different colors. Rare on a custom bike and it works.

With 5 degrees less of rake it would be perfect and my taste.

Elegant, sexy and unique while still looking like a motorcycle. Kevin you have great vision and the abilities to bring it to reality without compromise.
