Laconia Motorcycle Rally. June 11-19th, 2011.

Laconia, “America’s Original Rally” and a hotbed of riding heritage offers a lot of breathtaking rides through winding roads,  stunning lake vistas and riding on historic roads like the Kangamangus Trail. The 88th edition, named Progressive Laconia Motorcycle Rally will also offer this year a larger number of attractions. Below a few of them.

Riding – Racing. The Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad, bike climbs up Mt. Washington, the Hill Climb/Drag Races at Gunstock Mountain Resort and Laconia’s own Gypsy Tours add riding or day trips.  And for spectators, The New Hampshire Motor Speedway offers racing action from USCRA’s Vintage Races to Short track Races and of course, the 88th Loudon Classic Super Bike Race.

Hotels, Vendors, Restaurants. “The Weirs” as Weirs Beach it is often referred to,  offers a large group of vendors to serve biker’s every need.  The restaurants, resorts, retailers and attractions provide a wide range of entertainment, food and lodging.

Bars, Live Music. Of course, there are the traditional “biker bars” in town like the Broken Spoke Saloon as well as those that turn into Biker haunts during Motorcycle week,  like Harts Turkey Farm, The Paradise and The NAZBar Beach Bar & Grill, which this year hosts the “NAZKini” Bike Week Bikini Contest on Thursday, June 16.  The “NAZ” is known for its annual 15- year traditional contest in August so this June event is sure to be a First Annual!

The Official kick-off event of Progressive’s Laconia Motorcycle Week will be the NASWA Resort’s 5th Annual Peter Makris Memorial Run on June 11th.  For more information on early and VIP registration Call 603-366-4341 and watch the NASWA Website. More information about all activities in Laconia at 603-366-2000 or visit Laconia Motorcycle Week.

What’s this “Progressive” Laconia Motorcycle Rally stuff all about? Them GREEDY sonsabitches got their boney fingers in everything! The top three corporations in America are all insurance companies! They have the highest profit to outlay ratio of any buisness! For every $10.00 brought in only .25 is used for ALL operational expences, like payouts, overhead, paperwork, etc. That’s $9.75 pure PROFIT!! I’ve talked to insurance people that have told me it’s even more than that! They are so ingrained in our system that they have the Police force pushing their so called “product”! Which is intangible, ya can’t hold it in your hand, eat it [although we do, if ya know what I mean], feel it [except in your wallet], and you don’t really need it for basic human life. And yet, you can’t drive, work, get sick, need dental work, run a buisness, own a home, car, motorcycle, boat, buy anything [“Would you like extended warranty/insurance with that purchase?”] If you look at the street you realize that every person has MULTIPULE policys, car insurance [used to be you were insured with 1 policy for whatever you drove, but some money-hungry executive figured out how to charge you with separate policys for each individual vehicle], home insurance, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, wipe-yer-butt insurance, etc.! They determine who lives and who dies, “We can’t treat you without insurance!” And if you try to use what you’ve been outragiously paying for, they use every trick in the book to get out of it, then cancel yer ass! They got us by the cahonies, and there ain’t nuthin’ we can do about it! “God grant me serenity for things I cannot change”. And now they got their name in front of our motorcycle rallys! YEEZE!!! Their commecials make you THINK they are your friend, while they’re REAMING us BIGTIME!! Come on Armageddon, ’cause that’s the ONLY way we can shed these PARASITES!! Jus my opinion, of course. They’ll probably cancel me! Wiz

Thank the Lord Grail and the Greasebag were smart enough to move to another weekend …

Laconia is tired and beat and, like Easy Rider Magazine, stuck somewhere in the miserable parts of ’83

    Land Pirates Ahoy!

By the way, Easyriders magazine. Alive dead? Or dead alive? Doesn’t matter. No pulse. Dead.

I for one get tires of the big box insurance companies advertising motorcycle insurance with custom built bikes in their ads. They won’t offer comprehensive insurance on most custom built motorcycles. Just pisses me off!

While everyone has their opinion about sponsors…or about sponsorship in general, the truth is that there are a whole LOT of events that would no longer be possible without them. This is one of those events. So while you can whine about the sponsors putting their fingers INTO things, please remember that they also put in much need CASH. Without it…especially THIS event which is run by two people and a board made up of volunteers…. would not be at all possible. Advertising the event coast-to-coast takes money. Creating and updating the website takes money. Answering the phones and hiring security and all that stuff takes MONEY. Keeping the extensive Facebook page up to date and exciting takes money. So… until everyone leaves a 10-spot in the Laconia Staff mailbox…. try to be understanding. You don’t have to love each sponsor…but hey… you don’t have to be a hater either.

We’d ALL have ALOT more CASH ‘an MONEY iffin’ we didn’t have to PAY the DAMN INSURANCE COMPANIES!!! Wiz
