Confederate Motorcycles Unveils Third Generation Hellcat

Confederate Motors, Inc. (OTCBB:CFED), makers of handcrafted heirloom motorcycles, unveiled yesterday their third generation Hellcat. Drawing on the first and second generations’ distinctive drag race architecture, the company’s new X132 Hellcat advances that architecture with innovative engineering and avant-garde design. The company’s founder and CEO, H. Matthew Chambers, describes the new Hellcat by saying, “This is the motorcycle we were conceived to execute when I founded the company 21 years ago. I have every confidence that we have delivered all we ever dreamed of giving.”

Named after the legendary F6F Hellcat fighter plane of WWII, the X132 Hellcat is the result of an uncompromised design and manufacturing approach. The centerpiece of this approach is the Hellcat’s billet aluminum case. Instead of the usual casting method, the Hellcat’s case is machined from two blocks of billet 6061 aircraft grade aluminum. Chambers said, “This new case unites America’s best Vtwin technology and America’s superior powertrain technology into a singularity. Although this is the most expensive material selection and craft methodology, it is simply the best approach for maximizing strength and guaranteeing permanence.”

The company is set to begin production in January at a rate of two units per week. Pricing for the X132 Hellcat is $45,000 through February 29, 2012. The price will rise to $49,500 on March 1, 2012. Orders may be placed online at Work And Cycle. For the past the 21 years,  Confederate Motors, Inc. has designed and crafted uncompromised heirloom motorcycles for the motoring purist.

I’m a real fan of Matt, had the chance to meet him and tour his place in New Orleans about 10yrs ago.

He took his time and really showed us around and at that time he was just putting the first Wrath prototype together, and asked us to please not take any photos of it. He even showed us his very first Comfederate bike.

Matt made a very big impression on me and allowed me to see what hard work and dedication can produce.

    Thank you Matt!

I am a real huge fan of Confederate’s all of them. I believe that Matt is a good Guy and very dedicated not because of what Steve Carr said, but because he quit practicing Cannibalism! ……………He use to be a fully practicing Attorney I have one question and comment on Confederate’s that is……….Why do you only Build a Bike for a 160 Lb. 5′ 6″ – 5′ 10″ People???

I think I know why he builds bikes for riders that are somewhat smaller in scale and not close ot being classified as obese.

I guess I should say that if a bike were buitl to accomodate the vast majority of Harley riders (the one’s that haven’t been able to see where to buckle their belt in 10 years) it would be called a Confederate Ultra Classic. That would attract the attention of the Motor Company. Why go through the hassle?

In closing, one can get po’ed about the price, but these Confederate bikes blow away all the wired together stuff from OCC or WCC. Kind of like the fact they just keep quiet and build these completely off the chain wonders without all the lip-flapping.

And any guy that pays homage to General Forrest has got major cahones.

As a designer I gotta give props to Matt (No relation =) for craftsmanship. They look just as home in a museum as they do the street.

unrealistic bikes at unrealistic prices. period. really, c’mon…who can afford one in this economy. replacement parts? hello? try to find a replacement seal or gasket for this bike in say….6 months from now, lol…radical changes annually and a dealer network? sheeeeesh. Matt is an amazing example of “how to beat the system!” re-emerge every few years with a new LLC or the like, after you have claimed bankruptcy and bilked a host of legitimate motor companies, suppliers, and sub-contractors out of tens of thousands of dollars! Great Job! amazes me, yawn, how many drink the kool-aid, and even go back for seconds? practical, no. functional, pleeez. Gimme’ an FXR, w/decked heads, massaged CV, “Gen 1/early production” thunderheader or trapp…and i will continue to ride trouble free & care-free as long as there’s petrol! ju sayin? sorry guys, felt obligated to excercise my first ammendment right of “free speech!”

It is well known that Matt Chambers builds bikes with OPM (other people money) then sells 2 or 3 bikes (not the number he often claims) then find another investor to finance his losing money business. How long it’s going to last?

Looks sweet, best of luck selling enough to be profitable.

I’d love to see Cyril post a story about Mother Teresa and read all the sh!t talking about her. You guys never cease to amaze me with your negativity about EVERYONE. The stories this site posts would be 100 times better if it weren’t for all the trash talking comments.

  11. 11 calif phil Dec 4th, 2011 at 8:35 am

I would love to have a bike like that, Simply stunning.

45-50k for a bike like this is very reasonable. Realistically when one breaks down the parts and labor involved into each build it does add up. If you build something of interest, they will come.
At around 300 mil population in the US, there are always people who have money.
Great to see the X Wedge engine being used.

  13. 13 hellcat joe Dec 4th, 2011 at 11:37 am

what the bike needs is an inconel proprietary coupler between the front header pipe and the muffler. if they would try it i’m sure the bike would look better. just my two cents …

  14. 14 Woody Dec 4th, 2011 at 11:54 am

@ saywhat-if Mother Thresa had ever built a bike that looked like that I’m sure folks would’ve ripped her a new hole too. 😉

  15. 15 izadore007 Dec 4th, 2011 at 1:48 pm

“Say What”? How did we start talking about Mother Teresa? She never bought one thing from my Shop or did She ever refer anyone either? I heard She never Rode much. I think Cyril, has to have Trash Talkers that have some basis on what they claim, say or heard! Interesting, very Interesting!

  16. 16 Olive Oil Dec 4th, 2011 at 2:12 pm

I saw Mother Teresa in Calcutta riding an Enfield to one of her missions. She used to smoke that rear tire endlessly.

Liked the earlier versions better- this is too contrived…….

  18. 18 cooldaddy51 Dec 4th, 2011 at 7:44 pm

You really think 45k is a lot for a bike of this caliber? How does HD come up with a figure of 35k for a “limited edition” screachin chickin fatboy or whatever. Their limited edition models of onleeeee 150,000 will be produced sales pitch, stay at that number unless the model is a hit and its “oh well we’ll build a second 150,000 generation two limited edition.” So much for your special “supadupamotascuta”.
    Just blurtinout !

  19. 19 Mike Tomas Kiwi Indian MC Co Dec 4th, 2011 at 8:30 pm

Very correct. A supposedly limited edition Screaming Eagle in the mid to high 30’s is high really compared with a bike of this stature. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and there is a market for such bikes. At 50k it’s very reaso.

  20. 20 James McBride Dec 5th, 2011 at 7:24 am

Love the exhaust/muffler set up, very unique and arguably better looking than the alternative.

  21. 21 08Pitbull Dec 5th, 2011 at 8:37 am

I agree with Calif Phil, and Mike Tomas,

This is a beautiful custom, hand crafted machine that has its own unique and awesome look. If I had 50K to spend on a bike this would be the one. A much better deal than 35K for a mass produced Harley that looks like every other Harley or Harley wanna be. I’m all about buying American and I love beautiful bikes, I’m just not blinded by the great and all mighty name of Harley Davidson.

There is a market for these high end bikes, just like there is a market for high end sport cars. I would love to have one. I just can’t afford it, YET!

  22. 22 DURGAM Dec 5th, 2011 at 8:57 am

Beautiful representation of when a Machinist and engineer, bang heads and build a riders production custom. Whom-ever said ‘unrealistic bikes at unrealist prices, needs to remember the craze that brought the custom bike world to what it was until 2008-09. This bike is far more realistic. Its current, its well built with quality components, and certainly was built to be ridden.

  23. 23 Kroeter Dec 5th, 2011 at 9:36 am

At least it’s not a trike

  24. 24 Brian J Dec 5th, 2011 at 10:49 am

Trash talk or not it’s ugly. Not for me that’s for sure.Gucci bikes never appeal to the real riders just pretenders. YMMV

  25. 25 rydyr Dec 5th, 2011 at 1:02 pm

If you think it is over priced, try to reproduce it for less.

Hey pabstbluerigid, other then methane, what have you produced for the world lately? Great looking bike Matt! Confererate rocks!

Matt Chambers is a lying hypocrite and a giant douche bag. Once again his crap isn’t selling and he is taking money from people but not delivering any product. He is the consummate con artist. Don’t believe me? Keep your eyes peeled people I can’t be the only one who he refuses to give a refund to. Don’t buy his load of crap. Just google his name and you will find out all about him.
