Harley Sportster 1200 Conversion By Deus Customs

I already introduced you to an excellent shop in Australia called Deus Customs. The crew lives the custom life keeping in mind the optimistic Deus Ex Machina theory (Latin for “God Out Of The Machine) by which a seemingly unsolvable problem is suddenly and abruptly solved with the contrived and unexpected intervention of some new event, character, ability, or object. And all builders will tell you that while they build a custom motorcycle up-to performance and character they pray to find this “God Out Of The Machine.” Creation after creation, building from the ground up or producing conversions, Deus Customs is always excellent at both solving technical problems and at cosmetically “tuning” their motorcycles to make them all drool-worthy.

A 2007 Harley Sportster 1200 was the donor for “Bald Terrier”, stripped downed right away to bare frame. From there, objectives were to turn it into a “Cafe Racer” Sportster with added engine/suspension/brakes performance (Deus is originally a tuning shop) in a brand new beautiful bodywork package. “Bald Terrier” is equipped with a Power Commander 5,  new performance rotors and calipers. Gas tank is born from a heavily massaged SR400 tank, conceals the fuel pump, incorporates a Daytona electric speedometer and is held in place via a custom aluminum strap. Super filter was sourced at PM. Rear suspension is provided by custom length Ikon rear dampers and front end is quite beautiful treated in black hard chroming. Storz rear sets were modified to suit as was the Vance & Hines performance exhaust. One-Off clip-on bars by Tingate. Deus Customs Bald Terrier.

I like it – tank looks good
Not sure about the seat and rear fender.. Triton style bum stop would do it for me
With the fuel pump in it – whats the capacity of the tank? 17litres like the cruiser one??

Absolutely NOT a cafe bike fan at all…I would stop riding first, but this is well done. I would dare say “perfect”.

I’d never fit on that thing, but it sure looks boss.

Deus rules the cafe racer niche in Australia big time. We’ve run their customs in Heavy Duty magazine and always get a positive response from readers. California has something to look forward to.
