The Limpnickie Lot, the collective of young builders and craftsmen from the custom motorcycle scene that band together to travel together to motorcycle events will be in Daytona for Bike Week at it’s original location at the Stone Edge Skate Park, on South Ridgewood Avenue.
But after five years since the inception of the Limpnickie Lot, co-founder, Chris Callen of Cycle Source Magazine has announced that he will no longer be involved with the operations or planning of the Limpnickie Lot. From this point on, co-founder Taber Nash, along with Nick Perri and Tom Freund are now handling all Lot business. Callen stated on Monday, “Because of growing obligations with the magazine, I have decided to step back from the duties associated with the Lot. However, the Lot is in great hands with Taber, Nick, and Tom. I just want to focus on the magazine.” Cycle Source will continue to work on certain promotions with the Limpnickie Lot, although nothing has been determined to that end at this time.
What does this mean for the next generation of bikers?
I guess on their own. Possible Cycle Source doesn’t want to be perceived as the catalog of parts of the Limpnickie Lot builders, which it was. Don’t know. Deserves further explanation.
its possible that the ROI was too low andd risk too high to continue supporting teh Limpnickie Lot at these expensive events. The “Lot” was a really intersting experiment, but if revenue was not being generated, then might as well throw a party in your hotel room and limit risk and liability that goes along with trying to pull off something like the “Lot”.
It sounds like Taber’s new venture fits this type of deal to a tee…. so awesome! However no one should knock Chris and Cycle Source for stepping away from the “Lot” for whatever reason he/they decide. I am sure it is with the best of intentions and whats best for the magazine and ultimately for the industry as a result.
Kudos to Cycle Source, Taber Nash, the Lot, all everyone who is invovled! I hope the “lot” continues and grows for years to come.

A man has a vision to build something from nothing into something successful and probably beyond what he ever envisioned. Meanwhile his magazine/media business is probably growing in leaps and bounds and requires more daily hands on control. Chris is 1 man that runs hammer down all the time and the magazine is a product of his hard work. The magazine business has a deadline every month. It takes special people to deal with that and no excuses are accepted. He’s a visionary even though he never seems to sleep.
Well done Chris to take it from a concept and build it into what it became. The other builders have a great platform to take it to where ever they envision. Many builders have been given the opportunity to showcase their talents and parts which would most likely never have happened if it wasn’t for this 1 man. For that Chris is owed a HUGE thank you.

Anytime things change there will always be those who question why it changed. Chris brings drive and charisma to everything he does. My students anxiously await the new issue of Cycle Source each month and every build they put together each year includes as many parts as possible from our Limp Nickie Lot friends. Thanks to Chris and all involved for making the opprotunities available for the rest of us to live vicariously.The world turns, times change and the people who make good things haappen, keep surprising and inspiring us all.

Chris put his heart and soul into the Limpnickie Lot, creating a scene and making a noticeable change in how new builders were perceived. And, remember, this was done at a time when many other aspects of biking were tanking. After helping dozens of other small companies gain notice, I’d say he’s earned the right to concentrate on his own enterprises now. I can’t believe he never missed a deadline
all this time!
But innovators can’t stop thinking of new ideas and Chris works harder than anybody so Bean’re’s right; there’s way more to come.
Chris is a champion, a visionary and an incredible person. He inspires so many. He is a leader.
