Handy Industries, the well known manufacturer of motorcycle lifts and other shop products, announced the launch of their new Wheel Chock (Part #21400, $195.00). The all-in-one kit includes attachments for trailer mount, garage floor mount or lift mount.
The Handy Wheel Chock was designed to keep your motorcycle stable during transport, storage, or performance of routine maintenance. The easy to use chock has an adjustable rocker, giving versatility to fit multiple tire widths and diameters.
“I tested out multiple competitors when we were in the design stages of the Handy Wheel Chock, and this is by far the easiest one to use on the market”, stated Handy General Manager, Joel Jansen.

Almost exactly the same as the $70 Harbor Freight chock and well over twice the $. I’m sure the Handy is much higher quality, but my HF chock works just fine, and it comes with tie-down eyelets. Chinese are kicking our butts in manufacturing.
Hey, I’m all for saving $125 on a chock. If a weld breaks on the cheapie one I’m sure the bike next to it will hold it up 😉

Will it clear the back of the front fender on a Big Dog K9? Fender goes pretty low in back and standing bike upright, barely 4″ off floor. Definitely don’t want any contact from chock with fender!
Some people crack me up, Spend 20-30k for a bike but won’t spend $200 to hold it up with an American product that will probably last forever. I use Handy products and I would not use a HF tool if they were free.

Only comment we’re missing is that all the folks that trailer their bikes are pussys, not real bikers, etc, etc.

Go to your local H/D dealer and buy some Tie down straps that the new bikes are secured with when shipped from the factory and the wheel chock issue is mute. Good straps will hold your bike in place if properly used. I’m talking about the rachet type.
Hey, Handy went out of business one time and we all regretted it. Lets not let it happen again. Step up and help them out. You end up with the highest quality part to boot. As for those Harbor Freight fans – go for it. The Chicoms love you.
I agree completely that we ought to do our best to support Handy and any other American company, particularly in light of our current economic situation nationally. I’ve used the Handy chock and it works awesome. I’ve never used the Harbor Freight version and would never purchase one because I’ve been stung too many times by their other junky tools. Their chock might be great, but I’ll never buy one.
On the other hand, let’s be careful not to be hypocrites. How many of us are wearing Dickies work shirts? The vast majority are made in Mexico. Dickies does offer a Made in the USA work shirt; short sleeve button down. $165. How many of us are wearing the USA version? I do my best to buy American, but I simply can’t afford a week’s worth of work shirts at $165 a pop. My point isn’t to vilify Dickies, but to make a comparison regarding buying habits.
