Ready To Race. Dyno Testing A 1665 cc Vincent.

John Renwick and Ed Wallbank, 2 old English lads surrounded by amazing machinery are having a good time testing on the dynamometer “Epimetheus”, a 50’s 1665cc Vincent equipped with Nitrous oxide and air operated auto gear change. Motorcycle engineering that inspires, british accent included. Speakers up…

This is a worthwhile clip to watch. These guys are accomplishing much and having a great time doing it. 180 HP from and old Vincent engine!

Got to know these two “blokes” and the rest of their crew at Bonneville the last couple of years. John Renwick also has a rich history of two stroke development for sidecar racing and some of the most inovative chassis and engine combinations for road racing sidecars in the late sixties and early seventies., “bloody brilliant” !!

Man, that thing sounds awesome. Great fun to watch and I’d love to know the results when they run it on the track.

“Don’t call me an engineer, I’m a plumber!” … hahahaha
Good stuff. I love the gear changing system, “Old farts elimination element”…
    Thankyou John & Ed

Its hard to not appreciate these two and their work! These guys are just like the Englishmen I’ve worked with in the past.

Imagine, getting an old dinosaur like that to run to those limits and not blow up.

A great example of the type of ingenuity that fueled the birth of MC.
And its still going strong today…. How cool is that….!!!

Seems to me there’s a lesson here.
These ol-boys are blazing a trail their own way.
Wonder what they’d say if ya asked-em how they felt about today’s “we’re all in it together” society……….. 🙂

Fantastic. Great use of old motorcycle parts, looks very rideable. Wire rear wheel. Wonder if they need someone to sweep the floor and take out the trash?

I wonder where the Frame is where the Engine came from? The real talent is putting the Vincent back to original condition. this is what is called a Barn Yard find.

I wonder if he ever built a house on that property, surely he can’t still be living in that shop although you wouldn’t have to hold a gun on me to get me to spend time in there. Great video and even greater accomplishments. Now there are a couple of guys who love what they’re doing…..
