That looks like a very nice kit. I’m sure it works great. But “the other kit” cost about $5. for the few times we need need a tire plug.

They have a few plastic models left for $20 so I snagged one. I like keeping things simple and in a tight kit like this; especially on bikes or hiking. Saves room for ‘other stuff’.

Every rider without tubes should carry a kit like that.

…… nice product, or you can just use some Ride-On tire sealant and balancer and never have to worry about “plugs”.

Hell that would work great on car tires as well. I give it 2 thumbs up! Cost? Look what we spend on other riding gear.

I don’t recommend that you repair a motorcycle tire ever. I spent years in the automotive side of things and we never plugged, we only patched tires from the inside and the damage had to have occurred more than one inch from the side wall. Dismounting the tire is essential to determine the level of damage a tire has received from running (even a short distance) under inflated. There are more tires that are not even wide enough to use the (inch from sidewall) than there are tires that fit that bill. Not to mention tire laceration not punctures.

I carry a large garage keepers policy but I hope I never have to use it. Maybe it is the salesman in me but I would rather give my customer an excellent deal on a new tire rather than a worst case scenario. Motorcycles don’t stand up on their own. That said, if a customer has a tubed tire I will replace the tube for them but Vinny is right…Ride On is a good product and can prevent certain puncture disasters. My advice is to buy Road Hazzard (like Zodiac) for your tires and keep towing on your insurance.

There are different opinions about riding on a repaired tire or not. This particular product has gotten very positive reviews in the let it ride opinion side, that is a decision the individual rider can make. Either way if you get a puncture in your tire you must get from point B back to point A, and the Dynaplug is a handy, easy and convenient way to get there.

I highly recommend plugging a punctured tubless tire over carry the bike home, leaving it behind to be stolen, or waiting hours for a capable repair service to come pick me up. These plugs are a great way to make it home or to a shop to have a “correct” plug patch put in with the tire off the rim. Also nice to move on when the local shop doesn’t have correct size/brand in stock. Great leverage aginst places that think you’re a captive buyer because you’re stranded and need one of their gold-plated tires ☺
