ICON, the motorcycle riding apparel maker, needed a new custom bike to be featured in its 2014 premium ICON 1000 brand Spring catalog. A bike as “70’s racing culture” as some of its gear. So, they took a 1991 883 Sportster that they began to torture with the addition of a subframe attached via a set of Progressive Suspension 970 shocks, lowering and widening the front end with wide glide forks and custom fabricating a race fairing.
Engine received a 1200 cc kit breathing through a K&N filter and was fitted with a set of Supertrapp exhaust system. V-Rod wheels are dressed with Avon tires. Seat was fabled by New Church Moto and paint artwork applied by Garage 31.
Once completed the ICON 1000 Iron Lung went for a shakedown ending up in a burst of flames…
Rebuilt, it went to the oval track for a few fast spins to entertain the cameras. Watch the video…
