Victory Fuel Injection Tuning Made Simple

victorymotorcyclebisMany Victory owners customize their bikes with new pipes or slip on mufflers and often an aftermarket high flow air cleaner. And of course it requires that to richen the fuel mixture to cool the engine down and increase power. What is a simple task on carburetor equipped motorcycles (rejetting) can be more tricky when tuning a fuel injected bike.

A company called Pro Twin Performance just released the first product in their line of Freedom Tuning Systems for Victory motorcycles. The Stage 1 Tuning System provides the ability to adjust air/fuel ratios throughout the entire operating range when new pipes, mufflers and high flow air cleaners are installed.

The company states that the controller offered can be installed in 15 minutes and programmed utilizing the suggested conservative settings without the need for a computer or additional software. Programming is done by simply turning the Mode Select Dial and pushing 2 buttons. The Mode Select positions represent portions of the operating range/ The display represents percentage of fuel being added or removed (from +30% to – 20%) in those operating ranges, which is more than enough adjustment for typical stage 1 upgrades.

protwinAlso available is an optional Tuner’s Kit that allows for more precise tuning of each cylinder individually and complete fuel mapping. A job typically done by a shop with a Dyno. The Stage 1 Runer can be removed returning the system back to stock in seconds.

Better than Lloydz? I might try this out. Maybe this will help with the Lean condition on Victory.

Interesting. It looks to have most of the capabilities of a Power Commander with the ease of a Lloydz VFC. 300 bones is a competitive price too.

Its a shame there are not more manufactures making exhaust for the Victory’s

I like the fact that some one has come a long andofferss a tuner for the Victory.
Time will tell if the Victory riders will except it

X H-D, just off the top of my head I came up with a list of 13 aftermarket exhaust manufacturer’s making pipes for Vic’s and this product makes at least six options for tuners. Is that not enough?

The VFC4 is in testing, and adjusts with three mode buttons located on the face of a real time air fuel monitor. Install is only slightly harder then VFC3; due to the added gauge. Unit can add and subtract fuel, adjusts for idle, cruise, wide open, and acceleration. Been running the unit for the last 500 miles on my XC, and it is a game changer

    BobS is right
there are a lot of options out there
(No, not as mnay as H-d but there are choices)
This looks like it could be a winner

It will sell if it works. People like it when a unit can go on or off in just 15 minutes and is so easy to tune. This sounds like a tunable XiED unit from nightrider.com some people use on HD’s. That product certainly had its faithful. Not sure where it’s at in popularity these days though. I will be keeping an eye on this new tuning product for Victory.

The VFC4 sounds good too; especially for the more mechanically inclined. Looking forward to hearing more about this one too. Options are good.

Alas, it is only for 2010 and up models.

    Roscoe,
The system can be modified through different firmware/programming before it ships to work on virtually any model. Feel free to contact me directly by phone or shoot an email to discuss which model you have and I’d be glad to work on it for you….or answer any questions you may have. Thanks.

Beats me why EFI control units can’t just automatically adjust the spark and fuel mix after reading the sensor data in the exhaust every few milliseconds.
