In the USA, the motorcycle industry is getting some momentum from an economic tailwind. Polaris, with its Victory and Indian brands and Harley-Davidson are all going to continue to benefit from it all along 2014. During the 4th quarter 2013, Polaris motorcycle division picked up some speed mainly due to the revived Indian brand launch. Total revenue of both brands, Victory and Indian, almost doubled to 68.8 million, with almost all increase coming from the 3 new Indian Chiefs. But what is Polaris marketing and products strategy for Victory versus Indian and Harley-Davidson?
At least part of the answer may be provided when the 2015 Victory Gunner is unveiled at the Chicago Progressive International Motorcycle Show and here in my website tomorrow Saturday February 8th at Noon Central Time.
Victory Motorcycles already told me that the Gunner will be bringing an intense blend of heavyweight motorcycle with V-twin muscle and an edgy bobber style without compromise. Victory spokesperson adding: “ Until now, motorcyclists have had to choose between a powerful, comfortable heavyweight cruiser and a nimble bike for downtown rides. With the Gunner bursting onto the scene, that’s all about to change. The Gunner boasts a powerful 106ci V-twin on a full-size chassis, a lowered seat height, and lean-angle engineering that makes it ride like no other bobber currently on the market.”
Steve Menneto, Vice President, Polaris Motorcycles, says, “The Gunner’s got the muscle of a heavyweight, the handling of a Victory, and it’s an awesome-looking bobber. There’s no other bike like it on the market, and we can’t wait to lift the cover and reveal it this weekend. The Gunner offers a much-needed option for serious riders in the market for a bobber.”
I will published the pictures and all the features of this new model exactly at the same time it is unveiled in Chicago. So, be be back here tomorrow Saturday at Noon CST, 1 p.m. EST. to tell me and all reaters what you think of this new Victory offering.
Its great news that all the bikes made in the USA, are doing so well, can’t wait to see the gunner..
Hmm, I’m really curious now. sounds like it could be a striped down version of the Hard-ball?
Tomorrow, will be doing some errands but will check on my tablet.
I’m breathlessly awaiting the momentous event in the history of motorcycling!
Not so much the momentous but certainly an exciting one
Looking forward to the V-Twin Expo tomorrow but will tune in at 12 noon
or be standing very close to the Polaris booth
(If anyone is looking for me will be in the grey work shirt
with Road Wheeler / 2 Wheel thunder patch on it with my name Max )
Can’t wait to see how to make a Metric looking bike into a Bobber
Rodent, those looking to buy a new bike care about what Victory & Indian are proposing.
Set my alarm.
The anticipation is driving me nuts….just noticed the noon CST unveiling time….rrrr
52 minutes to go…
Yawnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn…..
A bobber? Really? It’s a “nice” bike but bobber it ain’t. Too much hype for what amounts to be a judge with a different paint job.
I agree with Bob. The specs match the high ball…exactly match the high ball except for the brand of tires and the paint option.
