Safety Issue. Send Your Jeans To Have Them Kevlar Protected

Jeans1Riding in regular jeans may be dangerous. The friction of a fall – even at low speeds – tears through denim in less than a second, leaving your legs exposed. The solution offered by businesses selling ready-made protective jeans satisfies very few bikers because these companies sell styles and cuts which are not yours.

Jeans2A great idea and service proposed by a company called Ruste Protection is to let you send your own jeans to their expert tailors who then will sew in Kevlar (for protection) and Coolmax fabric (between your skin and the Kevlar to help you stay dry, cool and comfortable.) Then your riding jeans are returned to you (they ship worldwide)

Ruste Protection says that the difference in fit after the tailoring process is very slight. That the waist size will change half a size at most. The legs will be a fraction slimmer because of the layer of protection that we add, but as long as your jeans aren’t very tight and 100% cotton, they will fit you as well as they did before the tailoring. I must admit that the tests in the video below (sanding the jeans, being dragged on concrete by a car) are quite convincing.

Any hipster video with power tools gone bad and jeans sucks me in.

nicker, Coolmax, Kevlar and Windstopper fabrics are very thin. I love using any Coolmax product. Windstopper fabric is amazing how something so thin stops wind chill and a fair bit of rain. I don’t know how well Kevlar works because I’m guided by the hand of God and haven’t slid down the road to test it’s effectiveness.

If you haven’t got a thin Windstopper jersey to wear under a jacket on a cold day, you don’t know what you’re missing.

    Modern fabrics really deliver.

Dickies, Loose-fit HEAVY-DUTY work jeans… When you ride everyday, you have to ride in your work jeans & work in your riding jeans.
Those Levi’s and Wranglers won’t cut it.

Dickies??? You’re kidding right? Anytime I have bought Dickies, they are the LEAST durable jeans I have owned & I’m not talking things like knees ripping or crotch splitting, I’m talking tears down the entire side of the leg about where they put the leg pockets for cell phones on plain work jeans or the double pocket on carpenter jeans.

I’d trust Dickies about as much as I’d trust a pair of thermal underwear.

I just bought a few pairs of the Dickies JEANS for my other half… I am thinking the discrepancy is the PANTS vs JEANS aspect here.. Dickies Denim JEANS are really good for the price. Add a little Kevlar to them to protect his jewels.. ABSOLUTLY!!

Yeah, sew in a bunch of extra fabric…… THAT’ll fit!… And look really cool, too!… Not.
