Parker Brothers Move Shop To Port Canaveral, Florida. Hope To Become A Tourists Attraction…

parkerbrothers1The Parker Brothers who specialize in movie and television cars and motorcycles are moving their operations from Melbourne, Florida to Port Canaveral, FL hoping their shop will become a new attraction to locals and cruise passengers. Local residents and tourists will be able to come into the shop to see a display of 10 to 15 of the Parker Brothers’ finished creations, and watch the Parkers and their staff build new vehicles. The Parker brothers say they do not plan to charge admission to the public to view the displays…

parkerbrothers2Port commissioners are so supportive of the attraction benefit that they are considering approving a five-year lease with a five-year option for the Parker Brothers Concepts’ 20,000-square-foot space in Port Canaveral. The Parkers say that the now-vacant space is nearly twice the size of their current location in Melbourne, FL, and will allow them to have an 8,000- to 10,000-square-foot showroom area in addition to their work space.“

We’re glad to be open to the public” the Parkers said. “The goal is to make the experience for the public as nice as possible.” The brothers (Shanon & Marc) say that their made for film and television vehicles range in price from $60,000 to $400,000, and that they’re currently working on some vehicles that could be priced at nearly $1 million. By locating at Port Canaveral, the business is also looking to diversify into creating boats and maybe a submarine. The Parkers had a reality TV show on Syfy started April 10th, but which was dropped after shooting in advance only 6 episodes. There are ongoing negotiations for a new Parker Brothers Concepts TV series, this time on the History Channel.

I’d love to know what the business model is. Pay to get in, look at guys walking around a bike build ,and then buy a T shirt and a plastic toy model?

Even to focus on attracting general tourists,I can’t see why it isn’t placed in Daytona, or Hollywood come to think of it.
