In Sturgis Jesse James Will Trade Two Wheels For Four To Race The Off Road Championship At The Buffalo Chip

jessejamesAs announced on June 26, Motorsports fans will get more than their fair share of extreme engines, insane speed and colossal crashes at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip’s newly constructed PowerSports Complex this August. The Sturgis Rally entertainment destination has planned a jam-packed week of high-powered competition including TORC (The Off Road Championship), the Nitro National Pro Hill Climb, AMA Extreme Dirt Track ATV Races and Outlaw Truck & Tractor Pulls.,

On Aug. 5-6 at The Legendary Buffalo Chip in Sturgis, S.D., James will trade two wheels for four and compete in the nation’s premiere off-road truck racing series, TORC The Off-Road Championship presented by AMSOIL. James is no stranger to off-road racing and has competed in both desert and short-course off-road racing. He feels TORC is building the foundation for something very special in Sturgis by bringing the series to race at The Chip during the Rally.

“I feel like I have a pretty good pulse on that place (Sturgis) and no one’s ever done anything like what TORC is doing,” he said. “Everybody else is like ‘How are we going to make money off the bikers? How are we going to take their money? But TORC is coming in with ‘How are we going to entertain these dudes?’ Short-course off-road racing is full-out entertainment. You get a lot for your money. I think it’s going to go over well. I’m excited about it.

JesseJamesTORC“For the last decade,” he continued, “I’ve been driving trophy trucks, but driving a PRO 2WD in the TORC Series is an all-out battle. We’re bumpin’ and bangin’, tearing doors off and hoods off from contact. These trucks jump 200 feet in the air at speeds over 100MPH. It’ll be some of the best racing these people have ever seen.” James will race a 900 Horsepower PRO 2WD race truck prepared by Troy Retzlaff at his Green Bay, Wis., shop. A former bike builder himself, Retzlaff is looking forward to working with James at Sturgis

The inaugural Battle at The Chip in Sturgis, S.D., will take place at The Legendary Buffalo Chip on Aug. 5-6. For ticket information, visit TORC Series and to follow the series on social media, visit Facebook.com/TORC and on Twitter and Instagram at @TORCOffRoad.

Well said, JJ. More is better 🙂 Whether it’s endless bands or now, truck races, it’s all good and has nothing to do with the original rally & races anyway. Sturgis is a mecca, and the people vote with their bikes, trailers 😉 and wallets. So far it’s been more yes votes.

Maybe that dude from Dirty Bird can set up an entertainment spectacle where he gives guys the first three punches, then we can watch the aftermath.

I always like to comment about Jessie James Promo, Hero, or TV Figure. I say Figure in short for “Figurine”, Jessies dream, becoming a Action FigurinE. Jessie, why don’t you just have a Chinese Company manufacture your Likeness in a Action Toy Figurie? Jessie, you just Love the Journey of a Bigger than Life Represenative. I know that this BIG EVENT for you is about the Goodness of the People and true Story of you doing this for the Biker Community for Free, Maybe you don.t need the money, but I do know that there is many forms of Payment! Publicity and Positive Press, has no Price on it! I also know that Cyril is one of your biggest Fans, and because of that Cyril might censor my comment!!! Cyril, I really think Jessie is a True Talented Builder and all of his Builds are due to the Talented People that he Employs.

Most of you are right, nowadays it’s more about the show and being seen, than the ride
I guess P.T.Barnum was right, sad to say !!!
I’ve defended Jesse on this very blog but all I can say now is,
    C’mon Jesse, really ???

I feel like I’ve stumbled into the “Real Housewives of Cyrilhuze”. What am I missing? Is the objection to it being non-motorcycle, because it’s Jesse? I’m certainly not a JJ groupie and don’t own any WCC Tees, but I don’t see anything negative here either-Sturgis turned into a circus decades ago anyway, right?

That should be interesting, If you have not seen the LOORRS (Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series) , or the TORC series, you may be surprised!

Short course stadium dirt racing is really growing fast, and is poised to deliver the same type of experience a Supercross motorcycle racing. If it’s anything like the SoCal races I have been to, there is something for everybody!

I hope JJ stands on the gas and has fun. . .
