2014 American International Motorcycle Expo Opens In Orlando With More Than 500 Exhibitors

AIMEXPOFor its second edition, the American International Motorcycle Expo (AIMExpo) – October 16 to 19 -has reached the landmark 500-exhibitor mark with a 50-percent larger floor space inside the Orlando Orange County Convention Center. The expansion is highlighted by the inclusion of eight original equipment manufacturers (OEM), each of who will provide global and North American debuts at the show. AIMExpo is now the largest show of its type in North America.

Aimexpo1“It has been a memorable year since AIMExpo became a reality last October and it’s incredible to see how far the event has come as we head into the second show,” said Larry Little, Vice President and General Manager of the Marketplace Events Motorcycle Group. “We have made it a point to give the industry an effective and efficient platform to improve the business of motorcycling, something it never had before, and following the success of the inaugural event we have seen an outpouring of support from more exhibitors, dealers and manufacturers. As a result, we have a physically larger show with even more products to introduce to the North American marketplace.”

Road racing legend Kevin Schwantz (1993 500cc World Champion) and television personality Cristy Lee (event’s official spokesperson, best known for her co-hosting role on Velocity Network’s All Girls Garage” helped kick off the 2014 AIMExpo on Thursday morning. The show commenced on Thursday, October 16, at 10 a.m. ET with a pair of trade days before opening up to consumers on Saturday, October 18, at 9 a.m. ET.

The American International Motorcycle Expo’spurpose is to serve as the catalyst to bring together industry, press, dealers and consumers in a single arena that creates a grand stage for motorcycling and powersports in the U.S. and North America, and delivers an efficient and energetic market-timed expo platform for B2B and B2C in the motorcycle industry.

Goodbye Cincinati and chicago, the only problem with Orlando is the ripoff parking for media, vendors, and attendees.

Free bike parking Rodent. And a little Google searching will show you some real cheap parking nearby the convention center that has free transportation. By the way, parking is only $9 on Saturday and Sunday. Compare that to Cinci and ChiTown.

An excellent trade show, I just walked it for the last 2 days and feedback from the exhibitors was totally positive – business is being done. This is the future for our industry so you’d ALL better support it !

Big show, but there were very few V-Twin specific (or even related) vendors.

Tami, they recently announced that they hired Bob Kay, well known and respected V-twin pro, to ramp up that segment. Should be interesting!

500+ vendors, WOW, at $24.- a square foot ! A 10 x 10 booth= $2,400, must be those $1,500. exhaust pipe & front wheel vendors. Has anybody ever wondered , WHY, you can buy 4 mag wheels & 4 new tires, for a Vett, for less money than a custom wheel for a bike ? Whatever happened to Big Dog, Bourget, CMC, Confederate, Gilroy Indian, Henderson, Iron Horse, Merch, Swift, Viper, & dozens more. Most are gone forever, really hurt S&S, who was making 1000’s of motors a years, now reduced to H-D’s, motor rebuild shop. I suppose that’s a good thing, at least their busy, rebuilding those POS Twin Cam motors. I’ve ridden 24 New Indians on 9 Demo days, Nice Bike ! I’ve been riding H-D’s since 1963, I have 2 Evos, the last Great motor, H-D made. I’m now 65, as of 9/11, been to 46 Laconia Bike Weeks since 1969. I’m old & arthritic, thinking of buying a 3 wheeler, a Slingshot, by Polaris, looks like a lotta fun. Be Safe, Boston Jim
