Never been to Galveston. Have to try this rally.
If I had to choose between Sturgis 75 and Galveston, I’d do Galveston.
The gouging in Sturgis by vendors, landlords, cops, courts will be huge.
No way can Sturgis handle a million people.
People from the world will be there including from Ebola countries.
Galveston is on the Gulf of Mexico and is a real city with real services.
The chance of bad weather is nil, compared to chance of tornados in Sturgis
I don’t drink, but those who do can drink in public, on their bikes, sidewalks, streets in Galveston.
The Galveston police go out of their way not to screw with bikers.
All in all Galveston beats Sturgis hands down in my opinion.
The Lone Star Rally is our season finale event every year!
What a great show, great weather, and like Rodent said the cops leave you alone (unless you are just totally stupid) and best of all there does not seem to be a “Rally Price Sheet” in place, like in so many other cities we attend events in every year. Normal prices exist all over town during the event!
One more thing: The promoter of the event knows how to put on a World Class Event!
Don’t miss the Lone Star Rally!
Over & Out,
Jeff
Sounds like a BLAST !!!!
I’m gonna get myself there one of these days.
God Bless Texas !!!!
I try to be positive but I agree with the “gouging” in Sturgis comments. Especially with respect to motels….They really put it to you. Next time I go to the Black Hills area it will not be for bike week.
75th will be a once-in-a-lifetime event, so doing both + good for the still recovering motorcycle idustry.
