Postcards From Milano EICMA Motorcycle Exhibition

EICMA13EICMA1bisEicma Motorcycle Exhibition was held from November 4th to 6th at the Fiera Milano in Milano, Italy. and was celebrating its 100th anniversary and 72th edition with the introduction of 20 different models from the largest brands. And a lot of bikes from “boutique” manufacturers, from custom builders only displaying their latest creations or competing in a bike show.

Of special interest, Brough Superior introducing the pre-series models with many changes from last year’s prototype and a production scheduled for next year (one version with Titanium frame and parts). Brough claims 70 solid orders at a price around $75,000 to be confirmed.

EICMA is a huge show with many vendors, and a plethora of motorcycles in all styles, from the Classic to the Ultra Cool, to the Strange and Weird. Just a few post cards.

This year, special US guests were Bob Seeger (Indian Larry Motorcycles), David Uhl and Bean’re. (photography @ H. Roesler for C. Huze)

How come so many big indoor shows in Europe and not in the USA (except IMS)?

I know it’s a matter of taste but this is (with a couple of exceptions) why I prefer restorations over most customs.

A little good … a little bad … a little new … a little old … some good looking … some down right fugly ….

But absolutely nothing ground breaking .. earth shattering or even the slightest bit game changing . Kind of like car shows these days . Homogenized xerox copies of whats been done a 1000 times before 😉

PS – Josh : Because the M/C culture and therefore the M/C business in the EU/UK is much larger , extensive and across the board than it is here in the US … unfortunately

Some really sweet rides there. I wonder what the red/silver Monster-ish bike and the Aniket Musket-ish bike are about. Hmm…

It was an really enlightening to see other cultures interpretation
of the motorcycle world. It was also fun hanging with Bobby and Elisa of Indian Larry Motorcycles and David Uhl and Greg. Very cool indeed

About 90% of this stuff you can keep
The Moto Guzzi with the bags is something they ought to look at mass producing.
    That’s a good looking bike & I don’t even like Guzzi’s
But I’d like to get over there, one day, to see the bikes (& the models) for myself
    Gee, Bean’re I’m sooo jealous !!!!!

Cyril, you are probably loving every minute of Gazing at these pieces of Artwork. Their Designing ability are so far ahead of any of our High line Builders. It is east to see why Ferrari Designs bring some of the Biggest Prices in the automotive world. Those Pictures are fantastic Cyril. Each Bike looks like some ones Dream and then Built it. I am sure their Finish work is awesome. I love looking at each and every Photo. Wow, Fantastico!.
