what is it with all these bright headlights are they legal. what about the poor suckers coming the opposite way that get blinded by the light.

In the old days, it was just the light bulb or a fuse that you needed to change when the lights went out.

Great lights! Had them installed in Daytona. What a difference. I see the light!

I can’t see how they would work properly in a lens/ reflector made for a specific Halogen bulb.

Makes me wounder how far the light beam goes. Yes from where we sit its bright but do really see farther down the road

It appears to be made specifically to replace an H4 bulb, so it should fit about any H4 headlight.
Looks like it’d fit my Ducati just fine.

Headwinds is a great company, that I’ve had the pleasure to work with.
Outstanding products & I’m sure this is no exception
Fills the gap that the factory should have filled from the “get-go”
You can never have too much light to see & be seen …..

    From Joel at Headwinds

Thanks for the great comments and questions about our LED H4 bulb.

    Den,
All Headlights are illegal if they are not properly aimed. If oncoming traffic headlights are blasting your eyes then they are not aimed properly. After replacing a bulb or lamp, always check to see if your headlight beam is aimed correctly. Refer to our website for the procedure. Our LED H4 bulb has not been tested by a D.O.T. laboratory for approval but they are not illegal.

    Lyle,
Old is the past, LED is the future.

    Rob,
A headlamp reflector has a geometric point in it called the Focus. The H4 halogen bulb lighting coils are positioned in the Focus of the reflector and all light emitted from the coils are reflected through the lens. Our LED Chip is positioned in the focus of the reflector. It works!

    X H-D Rider
In the high tech lingo of one of our competitors, they say it lights up for a Gazillion miles. Others say their LED lasts for 30,000 hours which translates to 1,800,000 miles at 60 miles per hour.

    Kevin Boyle Kustoms.

You are partially correct and we will soon have a solution. In December we will have an LED H4 bulb that will fit into the 5-3/4″ round-back headlight housings of the FXST, FXD, and XLH.

Our current model does fit in the 5-3/4″ bullet style Springer headlight housings.
