She was known as the “The Dark Angel”, “Miss Pinup Girl of the World” and “The Queen Of Curves”. Her glamour photography and playfully erotic photos made her an iconic figure in pop culture, influencing sexuality and fashion. She has been and is still is an inspiration for many painters in the custom automotive industry.
A brand new book celebrates Bettie Page with more than 250 previously unpublished photos taken through the lens of former model and photographer Bunny Yeager. The release also marks the 60th anniversary of Page and Yeager’s first photo session together in my city of Boca Raton, Florida at the now-closed Wildlife Park Africa USA.
Photos are from the original negatives, not from print, offering a spectacular resolution. Page nor Yeager lived enough to see this completed brilliant and beautiful book, probably the ultimate collection about the eroticism of pin-up culture. Order following the link Bettie Page, Queen Of Curves.
I remember coming across my dad’s hidden stash when I was a kid in the mid 60’s. I found a small orange covered book with her on the cover. I opened it up and it was full of these incredible black and white photos of Betty in various poses of undress. As you can imagine, as an 8 year old I thought that I hit the jackpot. I just turned 55 and I still own that little orange book……..
She was a superb woman, dressed or not…
Betty Page was a rare icon. Kim K is nowhere.
