“2014 marks our fifth consecutive year of double digit sales and earnings growth, an accomplishment which testifies to the innovative spirit and dedication of the 8,000 member global Polaris team. It is inspiring to see how they overcame obstacles ranging from negative foreign exchange impacts and a weakening European economy, to highly volatile oil and crop prices, to record a 19 percent increase in both sales and net income for the full year 2014. During the year, we added over thirty new vehicles to the Polaris armada, expanding and strengthening our portfolio with our largest ever new product introduction, while our strategic acquisitions and significant investments in our global manufacturing infrastructure allow us to both create and meet the increasing demand for our products,” explained Scott Wine, Polaris’ Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

Again and again would like to see a breakdown of motorcycle sales Victory/Indian, per model. I guess they don’t want Harley-Davidson to know.

    Greeko
I bet the MoCo knows the breakdown, Polarias don’t want the rest of us to know.

Rodent, as usual you are full of sarcasm, but I think it’s the opposite of what you said.

Anyone have a feel for motorcycle units produced? Does about 30,000 bikes seem reasonable?

The funny thing being regardless of the numbers PVI is reporting . For every new Indian/Victory I see on the streets I see at least a dozen or more of each and every other brand out there building cruisers . So are these numbers … A) reality .. or B) a case of the Bean Counters twisting and turning the numbers to their minders favor ?

    I’ll go with … B ! 😉

    richards – Answer – Nope !

Maybe it’s units sold to dealerships……not necessarily to the public where we would see a huge increase in Polaris bikes on the street??? I don’t know, just my 2 cents

  9. 9 Danny Jan 27th, 2015 at 7:47 pm

TJ Martin. Polaris is a public company. No chance that the Bean Counters can twist and turn the numbers. Are you kidding? How old are the Victory and the new Indian brands versus Harley-Davidson. Are you expecting Polaris to sell as many motorcycles as Harley? Or are you just kidding again? For sure, Victory and especially Indian are both taking sales from Harley…

That’s a very impressive report. And as is always the case whenever good news is presented some people just have to try and find a way to crap on it. Suck it up boys and girls, Victory and Indian are making some fantastic motorcycles and the market is responding.

Once again the market share of Polaris increases
yes I know, people are skeptical of the numbers
But the facts are these, there have been at least 3 articles over the last week
on this very blog of aftermarket body improvements & a racing team.
Somebody out there is buying these bikes (both Victory & Indian)
You might not see a lot of them but in an urban area, I do, more & more everyday.
And the aftermarket is responding. A sure sign that they are here to stay !!!!

    Hmmmmmm…….

Wonder how these numbers compare with the Indian/HD numbers of the 30’s & 40’s…???
Might be an indicator of the old rivalries returning.
Now all we need is Polaris to come up with an XR750 competitor for the track.

    Would that be cool…. or what… 🙂

Well here in South Florida Harley sells about 90 bikes a month between V twin city and Chesters and Indian of Pompano which has Victory and Indian sells between 10 and 20.Are those numbers close to the 30’s and 40’s?
