A northern Italian beach whose name is Lignano Sabbiadoro where, as in most summer resorts, activities are limited to swimming, tanning and shopping. Except in May during Biker Fest International when entertainment expands the time of a weekend to watching bikes cruise the Adriatic Sea coast, demo riding the latest models from motorcycle manufacturers and admiring the 100+ custom bikes competing in the Italian Championship. Biggest prizes include 3 trips to the 2016 Daytona Bike Week edition and 3 chances to qualify for the upcoming World Championship Of Bike Building.
The Terrazza a Mare (Terrace On The Sea), is the most important monument of the city, housing shops, bar, a solarium and during last weekend some of the most recent custom motorcycles created in Italy that I will feature later more in details. The difference with any USA biker event? Well, the Italian lifestyle, a much louder and festive crowd. No drinking without singing and no singing without drinking until the sun rises again… Add a very sexy bike & car wash, bands, airbrush demos, body painting, stunt shows, etc. The 3 top winners are: “199 RS” by Asso Special Bikes. “Cheiron” by STE SIL Bike. “Flyin’ Wood” by Apuana Garage / 0585 Choppers. (blue bike with weird rear wheel steering) Organized by Italian friends of the industry Moreno Persello and son Micke from magazine Italy Bikers Life. Some postcards.
