The perfect tie-in to the all-American Sturgis rally is of course Flat Track racing. Mark your calendars for August 4, 2015 for the Black Hills Half-Mile at Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City, SD.
“Dirt track racing is uniquely American,” says Black Hills Harley-Davidson® GM/Co-Owner and event promoter Terry Rymer. “The AMA Pro Flat Track series is one of the oldest motorsports championships in the nation, which makes it a natural to tie in with one of the country’s oldest motorcycle rallies. This has been one of the most exciting seasons of AMA Pro Flat Racing in years and it is an honor to be able to bring the pros to Black Hills Speedway,” Rymer adds.
A huge fan of the sport, Terry attempted to bring Flat Track to Sturgis last year, but was rained out. “It wasn’t meant to be, but with it being the 75th anniversary maybe Mother Nature was right to suggest it would be better to run the race this year?” Tickets can be purchased at Black Hills Harley-Davidson®, Rapid City (I90 Exit 55) Event schedule after the jump.
