Every year the Sturgis Buffalo Chip’s indoor Motorcycles as Art exhibition by Michael Lichter presents a changing conceptual theme that brings together the most innovative collection of groundbreaking custom bikes from today’s premier builders. This year’s exhibition lays bare the raw talent of 35 world-renowned bike builders. Each of these rolling metal sculptures is displayed exposed and naked, unencumbered by paint and graphics. The bikes’ most basic form right down to its smallest details are open to close examination…
Each motorcycle in the Naked Truth Exhibition is displayed alongside photography chosen from Michael Lichter’s archive. More than 100 framed photographs are included in the display, combining some of Lichter’s most iconic images with recent prints that have never been seen before. The Naked Truth is also hosting works from other famous “moto” painters and photographers including Adam Wright, David Uhl, Jeff Decker, Paul D’Orleans, Scott Jacobs, Tom Fritz and many more.
The exhibition is free and open to the public. It is located in the Russ Brown Events Center next to the EAST GATE of the Buffalo Chip Campground in Sturgis. The exhibition will be open daily from 10am to 10pm for just 1 week (August 1-7). Inside the 7000 ft exhibition hall.

Hooray! That’s what they look like before you paint them….. No paint, no chrome; what’s next? Least Dodge polished his tin work. Later Jay
p.s. Look up synergy.
I know how hard it is to pull together one of these exhibits. Thank you, Michael, for staying in the game and continuing to bring the beauty.
@Sig, and he even got the “Dunlop” logos in the exact same positions on “both bikes”? ☺
Well they are all nice , from the pics . But RKB Kustom speed is SWEET ASS HELL !!! And Choppers Inc with the board tracker TOO COOL Billy. ..More pics Cyril

I went and check out this exhibit yesterday morning. Mind blowing what these builders can put together.
If you are near the east side of the Buffalo Chip go check it out.
Congrats to all involved. Loved the exhibit!

Seriously Kirk Perry ? First off you really that taken in by Bad Combover Trump and his celebrity completely devoid of substance rantings , ravings and rhetoric ? Yeah . Give him four years . Then watch the US fall even deeper into the abyss than we already are
But secondly and more importantly .. what in the name of Jacob does any of this Trumpster bs have to do with motorcycles customs or much of anything else ?
trump? He’s a joke! Worse than that he’s a liar…
Politifact says
True statements = 0
Mostly true = 6%
half true = 9%
Mostly false = 13%
false = 50% Pants on fire false 22%
Donald is the answer, Hilary is a liar but”what does it matter?”
Congratulations, Mike, on putting together yet another outstanding concept presentation at your pavilion at the “Chip.”
More stuff for the “beautiful people” to gawk at and make mind blowing conversation over while they are at one of the world’s largest motorhome rallies!
V-Twin, Mfg. sent me this….. Now what?? They’ll have a part number for the skid plates before you can say, Hang 10! 🙂

Sorry to miss one of my favorite Sturgis events…. great job guys! Looks like a great show.
Great looking show great looking bikes Congrats Mike, glad we had you on the show two weeks back to share about this event and what the thinking was going in to it. Now I can track down all the entrants and bring them on for interviews! Ha.
Anyhow the details are all shown for all to see and I suspect it would take a few hours to really appreciate the work being displayed here.
Thanks for covering this event Cyril one of these days we will meet.
Best
Steve
