ARCH Motorcycle Company’s First Production Model KRGT-1 Is Certified CARB and EPA Emission-Compliant

Arch-TT-RedARCH Motorcycle Company, the ultra-premium American V-twin motorcycle manufacturer co-founded by Gard Hollinger and Keanu Reeves, has announced that its first production model, the KRGT-1, has been certified emissions-compliant by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and the Environmental Protection Agency and is legal in all fifty of the United States.

“CARB certification was always our goal,” says Hollinger. “We were committed to that from day one. It was a grueling process and important for us to achieve in order to deliver on our promise of a production-quality, custom performance cruiser.”

ARCH held the official media launch for the KRGT-1 in March of 2015 and received high marks from every motorcycle media representative who rode it. Since then, the KRGT-1 has continued to impress respected journalists as well as every enthusiast who has had the opportunity to experience it. The KRGT-1 was also chosen as one of the ten fantasy gifts for the legendary Neiman Marcus Christmas Book for 2015.

ARCH tasked us with building a powerful-yet-rideable powertrain. That part was easy for S&S,” says S&S VP of Sales Paul Devine. “But they also asked for 50-state compliance. That wasn’t easy, but, in the end, we developed an engine that pairs brute V-twin power with emissions compliance.”

The KRGT-1 represents the culmination of years of R&D focused on producing a category-defying American motorcycle with real-world rideability to match its meticulous craftsmanship. ARCH designed its streamlined, retro-modern styling to bring the contours of the past into the present. The bike showcases over 200 parts created at the ARCH production facility, each bike requiring 300-plus machine hours using state-of-the-art CNC and water-jet machinery. Dozens of other proprietary parts are supplied by premium vendor partners who share the same demanding standards.

Achieving 50-state certification is just the start of what looks to be an exciting and busy 2016 for the ARCH Motorcycle Company–they will be attending numerous motorcycle-related and promotional events around the country, and the R&D process is currently underway for a second ARCH motorcycle. If someone wants to buy me one; I’m cool with that. 😀

I’ll take the silver one with mid-controls…right after I win the lottery.
Very attractive bikes…would be a rush to ride I’m sure. There’s nothing like a combination of torque and handling for a pleasant ride on a curvy road.

Too bad they didn’t tell CARB to pound sand and make a REAL statement with a 49-State bike 😉

Woody’s – I think they’d rather sell bikes in California. If they somehow managed to rally a large group of vehicle manufacturers to stop selling their products in the state with not only the highest population of motorcyclists in the US, but also the highest population in general, then they might have a leg to stand on. As it is, all they’d do is handicap their ability to make sales and survive as a company. Whether CARB is right or wrong about their standards is really beside the point.

2Johnnyspeed, from a point of pure economics I 100% agree. My thought process veers off where if Hollywood loves to make a stand and rally around any cause (and won’t have their lifestyles change if not a single bike gets sold) what fun it’d be to see a “boutique product” where nobody’s betting the food money decide to not punish other States for California’s dog-wagging tail ☺

Woody’s – So no one else works at ARCH but Keanu? I’m sure all the employees and people who have worked very hard to bring this to market would disagree with you. Keanu is an owner/investor, but I don’t see him deciding to “make a stand” that may have detrimental effects to the business as a whole and the people who work for him. Just because a famous actor is involved in a business doesn’t suddenly make it not a business. If Keanu was the only employee of the company than I might agree with you. But he’s not. Besides, this is an american made bike. An expensive one sure, but so are Confederate bikes. I say good on ARCH for playing by the rules and getting a nice product to market. Not something I’d ever buy, but the same can be said for 98% of the motorcycles for sale today.lol

I respect your opinions, I just don’t agree. The people in the market for these bikes can easily have them titled elsewhere and as far as playing by the rules, I don’t think either one of us wants to get into a discussion of what rules there are and if they are fair 🙂

Not 100% sure about the tail, but the rest of it, I can dig it.

Would love to put all the guts and glory of this bike into one of my Dyna’s.

Even more reason to motivate the MoCo to do an updated FXR as part of the CVO “S” range. Or perhaps an “R” range. Make a limited run of 250 – eg 50 first lot and rest on order only.

    E.g.

    – A factory built 103″ Stage 4 (owner must sign an indemnity it will only be used in 49 states or where allowed overseas) or a Calif 110ci slogger.

    – Dry weight ~500lb.

    – USD Öhlins front; decent Öhlins in the rear. Brembo brakes. Marzocchi wheels. Alu tank and fenders. Etc.

    – Get an outsider to style it – eg Pierre Terblanche or an Italian.

    – Sell it for ~$35k.

    – It will be 90% of the KRGT-1 at half the price and they will sell each one.

The Dyna Low Rider S looks promising, but its chassis is about as stiff as a eighty year old, at Haulover Beach.

As for the ARCH KRGT-1 on the other hand – the price is extremely stiff. But I wish it COMES together for them…

…years ago s and s were known for their smoking carbs….good on you all for using that experience…red and black KRGT -1 is lovely…thank you for adding to my bucket list..this canadian lady can dream of romping on that ride..and good on you keanu for honouring your family…blessings to all on your wonderful creativity , craftmanship and meeting specs to help leave a greener footprint.

SIGFREED…….If Harley were to use an outsider to create a super clean looking bike for them, they should work with the guy’s at Thunderbike Customs in Germany. Since Harley also wants the younger crowd to buy their product, they might also want to work with a custom builder or two like Dustin Kott to create some new old school bobbers and café racers too.

Woody – Fair has nothing to do with it. I was speaking of logic and business.

Dudes, dudes and Bloggers. News Flash. Has anyone Rode a Diavei by Ducati? Well it is a Performance MF’er and has all the Carbon fiber and light weight space age designing that the Italians have been doing while both Keanu & Gard were a sparkle in their Parents Eyes! and by the way its $20,000 and No Deposit. But if you have Stupid Money and like wearing your Ego in front of your Helmet than the KRGT-1 looks like a 1000 X’s more sensible than a Confederate and Your Deposit money is a whole lot safer. Good Luck and all the best and I am very sincere.

Great styling along with awesome performance but to get these bikes to the masses they’ll have to lower the price. Hopefully that wouldn’t lower the quality much. It’s over priced but the designers absolutely nailed it! Congrats to all the folks at Arch Motorcycle!
