A Custom Victory Octane In 72 hours By The Ness Team

1Octane3Octane7Octane4Octane6-bis

It took a long weekend for the Ness team to create this custom Octane. Objective? To demonstrate that in just 72 hours it’s possible to add some serious attitude (yours) to the new muscular model from Victory.

5Octane8OctaneZach Ness told me: “We first ripped the sheet metal off and shot a candy blue over the existing Victory titanium paint job.  We fabricated some modular handlebars, a 2 into 1 header with a Arlen Ness by Magnaflow F Bomb exhaust. We also installed some of our off-the-shelf accessories that are available for Octane such as our Knockout wheels, Torque Box air filter kit, Big Shot tuner. We also added some prototype billet covers, grips, foot pegs, power LED turn signals and a 14″ oversized front brake rotor kit.  Many more options coming soon for the Octane. We are on the gas!”

67OctaneNess is about to launch a full line of custom parts specific to the Octane. Below are some of the few products used on this project.

  • – Arlen Ness Modular Handlebars
    – Arlen Ness Smooth Fusion Grips
    – Arlen Ness by MagnaFlow F-Bomb Muffler w/     one-off headers
    – Arlen Ness Knock Out Wheels
    – Arlen Ness Big Brake front rotor kit (14″ Rotor w/ billet caliper bracket)
    – Arlen Ness Turn Signals
    – Arlen Ness Forged Billet Mirrors
    – Prototype billet engine covers & fender rails.

Not bad for 72 hours, paint & dry included.

Interesting to see a “small” Ness project.

  3. 3 Gary Apr 20th, 2016 at 8:15 am

All this meaning that the Nesses believe in the success of the Octane.

Nice bike, but how come when it’s on “TV” the build is high pressure-measured with a stopwatch? When it’s YOUR build they’re working on it can take months…

    WTF!!
Check out the front footpeg. Exhaust is covering up the peg and the brake pedal.

The new Octane-Star 😉 Looks better than stock, but that’s setting the bar pretty low.

Other than paint and “custom” headers this is a 6-7 hour job for a B-level tech.

  8. 8 Danny Ray Apr 20th, 2016 at 10:22 am

Max Frisson. You forget the time to disassemble and reassemble the bike…

Roadster? What Roadster? Congrats Ness’s, nice looking bike.

So basically it’s an Octane with a paint job and extremely inconvenient pipes. Ummmmmmmm….sweet I guess?

Another catalog custom! Honey, where’s my check book?

  12. 12 Blackmax Apr 20th, 2016 at 4:35 pm

    Very Nice !!!
You can never go wrong with Ness stuff !!!
Imagine what they could do with full build time ???
(I don’t like where the pipes hit either, how about some shortys ??
Does Magnaflow make anything like that ??)

  13. 13 LedBoots Apr 20th, 2016 at 5:29 pm

That pipe has to be a prototype. Look at a zoomed in pic. The heat shields are all wonky as fuck.
Plus, like Breeze said, it appears to be covering the footpeg. What gives? Looks like a quickie, half assed, PR stunt to me

    Looks the goods

  15. 15 Jim Tom Apr 21st, 2016 at 6:35 am

Pretty nice. The pipe is not covering the peg. It’s an illusion of angle.

Enough about the Victory and the Indian already

Look at the shadow, I don’t think the pipes are in the way. Looks like we got a lot of lawn chair critics or builders that hate everything. This is an American Made bike…or assembled in America. If you haven’t been to the Arlen Ness shop in Dublin CA, you would know that his builds take everything into account.

No criticism of Ness or Victory, but a big-ass radiator is just that.
It is what it is. Save your air cooled engines boys. The EPA is on the way.

That is weak. It’s an ugly bike to start with , and didn’t change much.

i’ve never ridden one, but would like to just to do the pepsi challenge against the dyna.

Not a victory fan, but the Ness guys regularly get it right..both looks & the go fast part..

  22. 22 Dieter Sowade Apr 25th, 2016 at 8:14 am

It looks every bit like it was slapped together in 72 hours. YUK ! C’mon gents ………. you can do better than that and the stock looks beat it hands down.

Butt ugly, that tank looks like a 50’s outboard motor. Not a Ness fanboy either, bought a couple of their parts for a build years ago and they were either foreign knockoffs (while not impossible, they had the Ness logo and name on them) or Arlen and the boys are letting their name be put on some really crappy parts. The exhaust may not be blocking the foot peg but that ankle is going to be cooking. No likey.

Hate all you want boys , money for money these bikes will smoke anything else
