Give your bike a lower stance with Covington’s lowering kits for late-model Harley-Davidson Baggers including the “CVO” and “Special” models. In addition to their standard kit, Covingtons is stating that they have created the only lowering kit that will work with the factory adjustable coil over shocks featured on CVO and Special edition motorcycles.
A direct bolt-on option, these kits offer 1” to 1-3/8” reduction in bike height without affecting (or coming into contact with) any other parts on the motorcycle. Fits • 2009 to present HD Bagger and Touring models, does not fit adjustable coil over shocks, fits all others. Lowers Rear 1-3/8 Inch. CNC machined billet aluminum • Fits 2009 to present HD Bagger and Touring models, including CVO and Specials with adjustable coil over shocks. Lowers Rear 1 Inch.
CNC machined billet aluminum. Available in your choice of polished billet aluminum or black finish • Includes Mounting Hardware • Made in the USA • MSRP $119.95 for the pair. At Covington Customs.
An amazingly low price for a product with such potentially high liability claims down the road. (pun intended)
WARNING:
Expect your bike to bottom out more often – as in hit the tire. It may also affect the handling when the bike is fully laden.
Personally I would not do it on a touring machine.
anything’s better than the $30 pieces of steel junk with 4 adjustment holes that get in the way of the axle and nut being tightened
The problem with all of these types of lowering kits is that they alter the suspension geometry. The angle of the shock and location of mounting points in relation to swingarm pivot point determine the leverage that the swingarm has on the shock. When you alter these variables your spring rate is no longer correct for the forces applied. That’s why you’ll experience bottoming and your handling and overall ride go to shit.
Spend the $$$ … do it right … Progressive Suspension …
……… Praise the Lowered ……….
………….Domino Dave………..
Amen Domino Dave.
Will not fit on Road King Classic models, bags are molded to fit only the stock shock geometry.
Agree with Domino Dave !!!
Why for goodness sake would you compromise the ride quality of your bike ???
For the “Big Wheel” look ???
Thanks, but No Thanks !!!
If I Had to do it , bet your read end I’d be doing it with Progressive Suspension
or Race Tech or somebody who knows a lot more about that the Mo-Co !!!
Try Brock’s new bagger race shocks by Ohlins…skip this bad mod altogether…
