It’s certainly not the first and last time that Jack Daniels has collaborated with a custom builder to promote its brand. Towards the end of 2015, custom builder Sean Taylor from Gasoline Motor Co was approached by Jack Daniel’s Australia with a desire to build a distinctive Harley-Davidson to suit the Cafe Racer movement. Obviously not the first mash-up of its kind. Harley-Davidson manufactured its own Cafe Racer known as the XLCR in the late 70’s (to little success at the time) With all the Cafe Racer cliches in mind, Gasoline Motors agreed to turn a 1200 Forty-Eight Sportster into a modern racer.
For this project, Roland Sands Design offered a plethora of high quality after market parts, supplying some racetrack driven rear sets for a more agressive rider stance, clip-on handlebars “mounted as low as they go”, a tuck’ n ’roll solo bob job single seat (in-house re-tanned from brown to black), an anodized black velocity stack air intake “grilled to the eye balls” and a two-into-one wrapped for high-temperature insulation tracker-style exhaust.
Regarding fabrication,Sean Taylor lifted the gas tank 2.5″, then stripped it back to raw steel and slapped it with some custom Jack Daniels inspired in-house vinyl designs. The racer theme continues with an American-style side mounted license plate and a low slung speedo, the two custom fabricated and engineered to allow visibility while retaining a sleek custom appearance. Completing the retro Cafe aesthetic is a big set of Firestone champion deluxe rubbers. Although this Harley-Davidson remains more or less internally standard, the increased airflow, thanks to the RSD high flow high performance exhaust and velocity stack intake tuned to perfection, gives the 73 cubic inch engine plenty of power. Never understood the hype for Jack Black. To me it’s rock gut whiskey. I have converted many a brother to Crown. Take a couple ah sip of Crown and it turns smooth. After a couple sips then take a sip of Jack Black and it still burns. Only drink whiskey and when I do I want it smooth. NO additives. Straight whiskey.
No Canadian whiskey and the tires on the bike gotta go .
Not a fan of fat front tires … however this one looks “right” to me.
I classify this bike outlaw/café, and for that, kudos to the builder.
…………………………..Domino Dave ………………………………..
p.s. I don’t drink
It’s my taste. Good job.
Like, but with another paint job.
Lokking baaad…Youngsters should love it.
Knucklehead, if you want a smooth Canadian, try Canadian Club Small Batch or Forty Creek. Real smooth whiskys.
Narrower tires and I am interested.
Love reading your blog, thanks for the post!
Nope (and bourbon is better for you because it’s at least 1/2 corn) ; p
Alcoholic beverages use motorcycles for promo because in many countries advertising is restricted to very few medias.
don’t care for it……I like my whiskey in a bag
Isn’t Crown made by the CC people anyway ? Or is my Jameson fogged brain mistaken…
IF LEMMY KILMISITER DRANK JACK DANIALS WHISKEY ALLLIFE DAILY CAN,T BE ALL THAT BAD AND AS FAR AS THE SPORTY ITS BITCHIN’
Plain ugly bike….
Not a fan of the fat tires and that riding position would kill this old man’s back, but probably the best JD themed bike I’ve seen.
Jack’s looking for a newbies and girls to their group.
Crown, Canadian Club, etc. are blends. Not straight Whiskey. No comparison.
You should see my Wild Turkey Lazy Boy!
Nice bike, but not practical for my riding style of long distance. Straight Kentucky Bourbon for me please.
Very Nice !!!
Not for an old guy like me
But for that demographic H-D is looking for
it might be worth a look !!!
P.S. I’m a fan of “Mr. Jack”
Not so much the regular stuff but Gentlemen Jack & Jack Single Barrel !!!
So Smooth !!!
But being from Kentucky, I Never turn down a good bourbon either !!!!
Crown i can drink especially Crown Black,
but CC, 7 & regular Crown are , in my opinion, for what it’s worth, mixing liquor ….
