All Of Erik Buell Racing In Liquidation Again Beginning June 7.

I am not sure if the saga of American motorcycle sport company EBR which produced street and racing motorcycles, is going to end on June 7, or will continue under a new form/ownership that nobody in the industry can predict. The only thing we know for sure is that EBR shut down beginning of the year, and that its owner Liquid Asset Partners will start on June 7 a two-month long piecemeal liquidation sale and live auction at EBR’s state-of-the-art facility in East Trpy, Wisconsin. The public auction will be on June 8 at the factory and will include the factory production equipment, test equipment, and numerous additional lots, including the intellectual property of EBR Motorcycles and production tooling located at suppliers across the globe.and many historical artifacts inside the EBR’s facility.

“This is the motorcycle deal of a lifetime,” said Bill Melvin, CEO of Liquid Asset Partners. “For any motorcycle fan the deals are too cheap to miss. You can buy anything from a race motorcycle, hand tools, and all the way to buying the iconic motorcycle brand itself. We sell at such huge discounts, people will fly in from all over the world! Some people will start a new business just from buying these deals.” This will represent the largest factory liquidation of a sport motorcycle manufacturing facility. These superbike parts and equipment, which are rolling art, are selling at enormous discounts, right off the factory floor.”

The liquidation sale starts Wednesday June 7 at 10:00 a.m. The live auction starts June 8 at 10:00 a.m. Buyers may view the assets online at www.LiquidAP.com or come directly to the factory on June 7. More info contact: Marissa Winter at 616-719-5917

    Sad, just sad.

Whats that definition of insanity ; Doing the same thing the exact same way over and over again expecting a different result .e.g The same ole same ole Erik Buell SNAFU . No doubt once again leaving the investors in the lurch .

    Note to Erik ;

Stick to engineering and design and leave the business end of things to the experts : of which you obviously are not .

Bring on the Erik Buell bashers…..

Met the man a few times, even saw him playing in his band at a drag strip in WI. Oh, he signed my Buell, that I purchased new, that very same day. Who designed your bike?

This is the last American that will have his name on a production bike. Astute business man? Oh, doubt it. Guy with a dream and a vision that needed $$$ from investors that maybe did not fully understand that vision. I am sure.

Some of the best stuff from the MoCo came from his ideas. FXR, early FI on Evo Sporty, rubber mount Sportster (you don’t think they did that w/o him do you?)and I am sure stuff we never heard about.

Hope he has a hell of a good retirement.

Dear Erik ….. Thank you for my FXR … Best handling big twin ever ….

Arrogant comes to mind as well as gifted. Delusional and Porsche built a better motor just uglier(v rod). Both atforms should have been the sportster motors. Harley could then make them better instead of slow turds. I own 2 now and change out every motor on them.

Erik may not be a good business man but he is a great motorcycle designer. His early stuff is absolutely orgasmic! Yes I am secure enough in my manhood to say that out loud.

Proudly rode a ’98 S3T with my daughter on back for 13 years! We loved every minute as it was a ripper! 90 rear wheel was plenty. Best riding, handling, usable HP/ torque and braking bike I have personally owned.

As the sun may be finally setting, we passionate Buellers will forever remember the Trilogy of Tech:

    1. Mass Centralization
    2. Low Unsprung Weight
    3. Torsional Rigidity

It’s the journey, not the destination and EB had the chance to share his with many. That’s not a bad gig regardless if you ask me. Rock on EB and the Thunderbirds, see you in the M/C HOF.

Hmmm I guess the crotch rocket set just doesn’t dig expensive American
crotch rockets. Wonder how Confederate is doing as they kind of make something
that nobody wants and charges way too much for it.

Erik is a visionary. Sad to see another icon slip away.

“It is better to have tried and failed; then to never have tried at all”. Good luck Eric Buell!

You got to Love this Guy. Never mind. Eric Buell has sold his Idea’s and designs to h/D back in the early 90’s and got hired when they Purchased “Eric Buell Designs” Harley paid him WELL. They decided to Close the Doors and Gave Eric almost everything. ie: Parts Inventory, Designs, machinery and Screws and Bolts and etc. Eric starts up with Investors and sold all of the Gear that Harley Davidson turned over to Him. Now here he goes collecting again after Auction distributes His end. My Wish is for everyone who reads Cyril’s Blog to have 1/10th of Eric Buell’s profits from this Sale as their Net Worth and everyone will be able to really know what the Golden Years are!

Met Eric many times owned a Buell and can only say thanks for being here

Beside the NON Financial Woes of Eric Buell(he has none), Your Bikes are and were AWESOME. I bought a Left over 1999 S3T in 2000 and was probably the 2 nd Bike in almost Owning 100 Bike through out 50 Years of Riding. First Bike I wish I never sold was my Hayabusa 2002 and the 2nd was my S3T. I loved the Torque and I will probably never ride a Bike with better Front Brakes, ever. I really believe it was a Trick Bike that a true Hoodlum would Own even before a ZRX -11 or ZRX-12. The Bike could Wheelie and do Endo’s (Which I never did) as a stock Bike with no modifications. I have 2 friends that only are in Love with their Race Bikes.

Ive always liked his bikes…..niche cool bikes why they or he cant make it could be a case study at Harvard business school

the Ulysses XB12XT by todays standards was a NO techno bike like todays adventures bikes
but what a great all around bike

bigal the s5t’s are another classic Buel bike, these bikes just have a true uniqueness to them and are fun to ride

  15. 15 hacksaw May 29th, 2017 at 1:45 pm

Good riddance. true, earlier bulls were kinda cool. but the charade is finally over.

  16. 16 SYF May 29th, 2017 at 6:22 pm

1550tc, S5T’s? Never heard of it. Cam you enlighten us (me)?

Whatever Eric Buell’s business dealings are, he is not the mind to be running the show. He should be in the background doing what he does best.

I think he got the raw end of the deal about 3 or 4 times now.

I’ve never rode a Ulysses, but I think that would be a great bike, just came about 10 years too soon. Look at how many adventure bikes there are these day.

  17. 17 B.D. May 29th, 2017 at 9:43 pm

So many idiots ready and eager to bash Buell here. They have no clue.

Erik Buell should be everyone’s hero – his bikes and designs were all first rate. He is the two wheeled version of Caroll Shelby. His contributions to the FX, V Rod, etc. were pure genius.

Harley didn’t give him everything when they stupidly pulled the plug on Buell motorcycles – first of all they refused to let him use his own name, hence the EBR moniker. And they closed Buell down for stupid reasons (a new CEO, Wandell, who never even rode didn’t understand sport bikes or NASCAR support from manufacturers).

I hope Erik is doing great and the bikes that bear his name will live and be remembered as the best bikes ever to come from a Harley dealer.

    typo S3T Thunderbolt

    the air box…..just needs removal

just like the Honda Transalp which was 30 years too soon

It is very easy to criticize some one who their name on a product, sold that product many times over, sold part of their likeliness, failed, and failed again. It is even easier to kick a person while they are down.

I pray that all with something negative to say, dare to attempt to live out their dreams in front of all of and industry to judge.

This man hasn’t had a boss in a quarter century.

He employed hundreds of AMERICAN workers.

    He won.
