An Excellent Custom Moto Guzzi By Tom Dixon Named Tomoto During Milan Design Week.

At the show, Tom Dixon’s massive Multiplex exhibition – a showcase of his designs – presented the Tomoto motorcycle. It features what many like, ultimate simplicity, raw aluminum, patterned covers and wheels and of course his signature lamp/headlight. A short video about his love for the Moto Guzzi motorcycles still made in the same factory in the hills above Lake Como.

I am a designer and a diehard Guzzi rider for nearly 40 years, owning everything from V7 Sports, Ambo solo & hack, LMI, LMIII and currently riding a 1000cc modified CX100. I normally don’t comment on builds, but with all due respect to Mr Dixon, I find this one to be a disservice to the marque, and an indication of the current trend in customs of garish visual design. Not my cup of tea (or bottle of wine in the case of Guzzis).

Is it April Fools already, Cyril? Or perhaps it’s April Fools’ in Italy?

I think Mr. Dixon must have been drunk when he designed this bike, and he must have been drunk again when he decided to show it to the public. This bike belongs in the same heap as Rebecca Black’s debut music “Friday” — trash.
