AIMExpo. CEO’s of Harley-Davidson and Polaris To Offer Keynote Addresses

The future of the powersports industry lies with new riders, and how to develop these new riders is a tough yet intriguing challenge the industry must face together. To help address that challenge, AIMExpo presented by Nationwide invites dealers, media and all industry attendees to the show’s opening program, where leaders of iconic American manufacturers Harley-Davidson Motor Company and Polaris Industries will share their ideas. The Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC) also will reveal a key initiative toward this goal.

AIMExpo will kickstart four days of industry business with “The Future Starts Here” on September 21 at 8:30 a.m. in the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio. Opening ceremonies will feature keynote speeches from Scott Wine, CEO of Polaris, and Matt Levatich, President and CEO of Harley-Davidson. The two industry leaders will explore the challenges and opportunities for motorcycling and powersports’ future as we approach the millennium’s third decade.

AIMExpo presented by Nationwide is where all the industry’s stakeholders – dealers, manufacturers, aftermarket and media – converge to share not only what products and services will be part of the business in 2018, but also to address shaping the state of the business beyond 2018 and into the future.

If the future of motorcycling is in the hands of those two bozos motorcycling is doomed. Their companies have done nothing but lose lately. Odd choices for keynote speakers.

Agreed whole heartedly and completely . The two losers in the bunch leading the way while the sole winner worldwide ( Beemer ) is left off the stage . Brilliant . A moment of futile guaranteed to draw critics corporate cronyism perhaps ? And people winder why AIM’s becomignso irrelevant . This is why !

What admiration many of us have for people who can be so negative about two CEO’s doing what’s right.

Pick the bozo or loser to be the first to reply. wink ,wink

    Indian loosing ?! Really?!

  5. 5 BobS Aug 20th, 2017 at 9:15 am

Biggles, Indian doesn’t have a CEO, Polaris does. And just like Harley their sales are down. Significantly down. Not sure what you and Fuji call a good businessman, but most normal people call CEO’s who lose business…unemployed.

A story was presented about two CEO’s and immediately we received a narcissistic reply from someone who must be the shoeshine boy for these execs.

These two execs are where they are until the appropriate boards dismiss them. I really doubt that these two are so insecure as ….?

“I really doubt that these two are so insuecure as…” as the cheerleaders that get all butt hurt if someone criticizes the CEO’s who are losing business?

I see the idea of bringing VP Pence to speak has been dropped. Wise move.
HD doesn’t seem to have any new ideas. The coming consumer demand strength is in sub 500cc bikes. The HD Street 500 is the most expensive and least popular product in that category.
Many BMW dealers have deposits on the new G310R and GS

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Royal Enfield 350 starts gaining popularity and what about the RE 1000cc motor Cyril talked about the other day?

Every generation likes to do it their way which is usually different than previous gens.

Hey this is great news. I know some of the people behind AImExpo and the dealers who support it and they want the very best for the US motorcycling community. Getting these two on board is wonderful and shows solidarity between two powerhouses in the Cycling world.

Keep in mind, the US has only 2 cycle manufacturers that employee US citizens, they’re profits stay in the US not off shore. I am sure if BMW CEO wished to peak at this conference they could.

As for who sells the most bikes – BMW or Harley – Here is some interesting facts for the BMW crowd.

Info comes from h-d website and socalbmwmc.com
BMW Motorrad sales 2016: US sales 13,730, World Wide 145,032
    H-D sales 2016: US sales 161,658, World Wide 260,289.

I do not make a cent from the Polris or HD I would do a different marketing campaign that what they are doing but they are still selling a lot of bikes and putting a lot of people to work and that’s still a good thing.

    Best in business
