Rebel On The Highway. A movie By, For, And About Bikers

On September 16, 2017 in the motorcycling mecca of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, biker deities and devotees from across the nation will converge in a sold-out theater to celebrate the cinematic efforts of musician Charlie Brechtel as his more than 2-year project is brought to the silver screen. Working with executive producer Dennis Sanfilippo, the premiere of Rebel on the Highway will take place just outside Milwaukee.

Brechtel, known as Goodtime Charlie, and his wife Sabrina wrote a lighthearted screenplay that melds voodoo, imagination, music and a touch of mayhem into an entertaining flick that is sure to appeal to all.

Most poignant is the lack of star power in Rebel on the Highway since there is only one professional actor in the entire film. Biker, actor, musician and Brechtel friend Mickey Jones plays the lead character’s uncle. Lead character Brechtel plays himself, as do most of the other performers.

The credits list reads as a who’s who of riding personalities and famed musicians and the appearances alone guarantees this movie will evolve into a motorcycle cult classic. From 92-year old icon Gloria Struck, original freedom fighter Tony Pan Sanfelipo, Buffalo Chip owner Woody Woodruff and various motorcycle clubs to musicians like Guitar Mac, Charlie Musselwhite, Guitar Shorty and the recently deceased keyboardist Deacon Jones, there’s a constant stream of recognizable characters assembled and everyone will know someone in the storyline. And it’s all due to Charlie Brechtel’s unique relationship with folks from all walks of life. With scenes shot across the country, the plot involves the classic struggle between good and evil plays out as Charlie wrestles with the Devil and finds a motorcycle riding God in the process.

A pre-party bike night is planned at the Iron Horse Hotel 500 W. Florida Street in Milwaukee on September 14. Festivities start at 5:30 pm with musical guest “Southbound” and is open to the public. The premiere will be held at 1:00 pm at the Majestic Cinema 770 N. Springdale Road in Brookfield, Wisconsin on September 16, 2017. General admission is $10.00. Future screenings are also scheduled for Louisiana, California and Washington. For a complete list of screening cities, dates and to purchase tickets, go to Rebel On The Highway Tickets.

A bevy of ‘ B’ level bikers , musicians and actors stuffed into another ‘ B ‘ biker movie once again making every biker look like a fool in the eyes of the general public . I’d say this is pathetic verging on pre-adolescent but even that would be too kind .

Must be another semidocumentary exploring cosplay. The tophatted revolver afficianado loves his 1971 rock star fetishes. Sad!

Charlie is a good guy who loves motorcycling. I will add it to my biker movie collection.

I remember a time when riders/ bikers weren’t so judgemental.

Probably not a real chopper in the bunch like usual.

  10. 10 SheepDog Aug 25th, 2017 at 10:39 pm

There’s more real rebel and hardcore biker people in this movie, than the people leaving bad comments could ever handle….

  11. 11 TODoublevD Aug 25th, 2017 at 11:09 pm

Looking forward to see this flick. I have been to most of these places and I have met many of the bikers and musicians in this flick over the years. Wish there were a screening closer to where I live.

  12. 12 Double Trouble Aug 26th, 2017 at 1:48 am

Bunch of fools playing fools. Pathetic bunch of has been’s.

  13. 13 Bonnie Ereth Aug 26th, 2017 at 8:38 am

Will there be a DVD to purchase? I’ve been following this movie being made since the beginning!

  14. 14 Miss Cat Aug 26th, 2017 at 9:14 am

I have had the great privilege to be part of this movie. It is truly what it is advertised to be: a movie about bikers done by bikers. It blasts the stereotype that Hollywood has portrayed riders to be for years. You nay-sayers should watch it before making judgement calls. Charlie put his heart & soul into this flick, and so did the bikers and musicians who support his effort to break the mold.

  15. 15 Bandit650 Aug 26th, 2017 at 9:27 am

If you thought Sons of Anarchy set the biker world back, wait till you see this wreck of a film. Makes us real bikers look like a bunch of clowns and it is no wonder the general public doesn’t respect us with crap like this.
This so called movie is chock full of stupid looking motorcycles driven by stupid looking clowns and that old singer Charlie really needs to eat a bunch of cough drops and lay off the weed for a bit.

After all the hype I went to see this flick, what a total waste of time and money. A bunch of grown men acting like fools, what was the story line again? Oh yeah, some voodoo, come back from the dead stuff with an even more sorry music line up. It was so bad that I kept falling asleep, it was that boring. Also, good luck getting a refund. A total bust.

  17. 17 Rogue Aug 26th, 2017 at 3:13 pm

I am going to see the movie and I think I will like it as I know many of the prople in it and I know they put their heart into it.
If you look at the names and info about the people in the movie you will notice that the Bikers are really Bikers. They may be playing a part in the movie But they are Bikers.
The same goes for the musicians well known with many record sales and credits from other musicians.
I do not see how people can make negative comments about this movie with out seeing it. I will take that as they are just happy to post on Cyril’s Site.
Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion But it would be better if some put their brain in gear before commented

  18. 18 Just Jake Aug 26th, 2017 at 3:37 pm

Well, it seems we have an old rogue ragging at folks for commenting on his buddies so called biker film and he has not seen it either. Oh, guess he starred in it. Ha. Let me tell ya, I have talked to a few who have seen this mess and from what they tell me it is best to keep your hard earned dough in your wallet. Heck, even the shirts they are peddling are junk. Funny stuff right there, don’t care who you are.

  19. 19 Xenu Aug 26th, 2017 at 5:13 pm

The film’s trailer ends with an invitation to “Likes use on Facebook”
    Check it out on Youtube.

  20. 20 P.Hamilton Aug 26th, 2017 at 5:48 pm

Xenu. Thank you for telling us. Incitation to “Like” a movie after watching only a trailer??? It proves that these guys on not pros. They will, like many amateurs, sell a.few tees to friends.

  21. 21 Scooter Aug 26th, 2017 at 8:35 pm

I listened to the radio station and was for many years a fierce supporter, I donated money to “C.B.”” over the years for his many projects, most never happened. Yes, I seen the movie trailer, but I will never give money to anything that he has his hands on again.

Lets me just say this: what about pleading for money so his station could go via satellite, the travel trailer where names would be on the side if you donate, needing money to pay royalties for his station or even become a member of his site where they will post your name. Don’t get me started on all the gofundme pages he started for whatever whims he can think of.

He even begs for money so his dj’s can go to Sturgis every year while he brags about smoking pot and spending money on his voodoo motorcycle. Even most of his loyal advertisers have left one by one by one.

How about this “C.B.”, get a real job like the rest of us and stop sponging off the people that supported you over the years. I know he is in a band but if you have to beg for money to survive then maybe, just maybe it’s not working out. I am not being offensive, vulgar or hateful, just saying what needed to be said. Nope, never again.

I can’t wait to see this film. I am honored to play my part. So much fun.

  23. 23 Sabrina Aug 27th, 2017 at 1:15 am

All of you negative mother fuckers are a joke, who could say they have seen this movie when it hasn’t even been put out. Half you piece of shits hiding behind an email are such haters, your complaints are all out of some comic book. No one has seen the movie so ur posts are irrelevant NO ONE HAS SEEN THE MOVIE so no comment is justifiable !!!’ What a joke you all are!!!! Scooter!!!! Ur comments are irrelevant major players in the industry are in this movie and ur just a little joke hiding behind ur computer and have gone no where but the internet. Not worth any more of our time. Only failures find time to knock others.

  24. 24 Bean're Aug 27th, 2017 at 5:49 am

Having been in the movie, I have seen some parts and think they are fantastic.looking forward to seeing it all put together at the premier in Milwaukee. I doubt I’ll see any of these “keyboard commandos ” who are slamming a movie that NO ONE has even gotten to see yet but just in case, I’ll wear my pointy purple boots and show you what I love about them the most. Who needs National Enquirer with all these drama filled, critics who would never dream of coming out to a real motorcycle event

  25. 25 Pat h Aug 27th, 2017 at 8:16 am

If NO ONE has seen the movie how can anyone say it’s good, maybe they watched the trailers which I did and the movie looks really bad to me, Sabrina one word Midol

  26. 26 Dany Hermosa Aug 27th, 2017 at 8:47 am

Bean’re. Maybe the reason of the negative comments on a movie that nobody has seen is the fact that Charlie Bretchel is not likid by many in the motorcycle industry. As somebody suggested, asking too much and too often sponsor money for failed projects? I don’t know but it would be one possible explanation. A kind of revenge from those thinking they have been abused in the past?

  27. 27 Julie Noble Aug 27th, 2017 at 10:24 am

From some of these comments, it seems the truth is finally being exposed.

  28. 28 Xenu Aug 27th, 2017 at 11:57 am

I’m sure the trailer was cut from the most rivetting scenes to entice viewers.

  29. 29 P. Hamilton Aug 27th, 2017 at 12:11 pm

There must be some reasons, justified or not, why so much critics in advance of a release. Watch out for the expression, a movie by bikers for bikers. Usually it means quite bad with very rare exceptions.

  30. 30 Ray Sandvik Aug 27th, 2017 at 12:23 pm

I watched 4/5? trailers regarding this movie. The only thing I can say is that these guys don’t know what a movie trailer is all about and know how it is made.

  31. 31 Bean're Aug 27th, 2017 at 12:38 pm

So you are equating a comment on the internet as truth? Abe Lincoln once
said ” don’t believe everything you see on the internet”

  32. 32 Xenu Aug 27th, 2017 at 1:49 pm

    Then why post here?

  33. 33 Haters gonna hate Aug 27th, 2017 at 2:02 pm

Anyone saying they saw this film (MSLinda, I’m looking at you) is a liar and a fool. There are no copies available to the public. So, MSLinda (and the other tools that say they saw it), where did you watch it?

  34. 34 Not Star Struck Aug 28th, 2017 at 8:01 am

Just what we needed. Another new way for the Mutual Admiration Society to stroke their egos and make a few bucks.

  35. 35 Blasts Aug 28th, 2017 at 8:14 am

Anything has to be better than the SonsOf Anarchy folks. No one percenter acts like those bozos. Sabrina is right and can probably knock most of you internet THUGS out so holla softer. Use your back bone for knockin knees. Damn it’s only Monday and the Ass is already up. Some folks need to get laid here.

  36. 36 hacksaw Aug 28th, 2017 at 1:41 pm

LOL! who cares if the movie wins an oscar?
if one doesn’t like the movie then just move on.
now i am not defending anyones bizz practices. but calling people klownz on the internet is gutless. go tell the Bandito he is a clown to his face. good luck!
i have never met Bean’re but i have read some of his stuff.
    he seems righteous to me.

  37. 37 Chad Foster Aug 28th, 2017 at 2:38 pm

Working in marketing, thanks to Cyril’s feature, I can tell you this movie already got a ton of free advertising that the producer could not afford. Just look at how much he charges for commercial banners. So nobody involved in this movie should complain. There is no bad publicity…

  38. 38 Frank Sep 2nd, 2017 at 12:24 pm

Major players? This move is made up of a bunch of losers trying to revive what pathetic life they have left. I’ve seen the trailer of this mess a few times, save your dough. Here’s another tip; the sound of Charlie’s voice makes dogs howl, you have been warned.

  39. 39 Rick Hanson Sep 6th, 2017 at 6:02 pm

I have known most of these clowns for many years, not a serious one in the bunch that ever had a real workingman’s job. The so called voodoo star (sic) is a washed up singer. Don’t even get me started on the Bean’re. Not everything is what it seems peps, money is owed big time by these clowns.

  40. 40 Pat h Sep 6th, 2017 at 8:56 pm

From the short clips I seen you gotta wonder what they did with the money their parents gave them for acting school

  41. 41 calif Phil Sep 8th, 2017 at 7:52 am

I wish there was a screening close to me. I will buy the DVD.

  42. 42 Amike Sep 14th, 2017 at 1:46 pm

Didn’t take long for the motorcycle enthusiasts to show up.

  43. 43 Dano Sep 16th, 2017 at 11:37 pm

I just seen this puke of a film and had to comment on this abortion. Singing sucked, movie sucked, even the motorcycles sucked.
Hey Charlie, better go back to selling your patches, t-shirts and your snake oil crap and just give it up man, give it up. This whole music and film gig ain’t working out for ya. I give it two thumbs down, it was that bad.

  44. 44 Scott Sep 17th, 2017 at 5:04 am

I saw the premiere yesterday. Overall it’s a pretty good movie, good soundtrack, good message from the storyline. Personally I’d rather watch a movie with real bikers acting than actors trying to be bikers. Funny thing bout the “critics” comments: they haven’t seen the movie yet tear it down. If you don’t want to watch a movie based on a trailer I get that but to take personal shots? Get over it. It wasn’t made looking for an academy award, it was made for bikers (not “Harley riders”) to enjoy and from the sold out Milwaukee premiere I’d say it’s already a success

  45. 45 hyder Sep 17th, 2017 at 8:32 pm

“it will further tarnish the publics’ opinion of bikers” hahahaha im sure that is a bikers’ number one concern, damn haters. because movies form that perception much more than your biker friends? charity rides? etc etc

  46. 46 hyder Sep 17th, 2017 at 8:39 pm

Nicholas Cage in Ghost Rider single handedly destroyed public view of bikers. People were really scared every biker was half man, half skeleton fire breathing avenger……..

  47. 47 Mike jackson Sep 17th, 2017 at 8:52 pm

    Bring that movie to Georgia.

  48. 48 panheadRandy Sep 26th, 2017 at 8:28 pm

I cannot believe all this bullshit you haters are spreading around, first off if you don’t like something about it get a life and move on!
We went to the showing in Sacramento Sept. 23. Big crowd already there, brothers from all over, many clubs represented, every body there just to have some fun—yea fun—nobody had there panties in a bunch, just a good meet n greet.
I’m glad Charlie, Sabrina and the others put all that time effort and money into something just for bikers to enjoy.
Been riding more than 60 years, have 6 bikes and for a measly $10.00 got to enjoying seeing places and people that brought back a few memories.

  49. 49 Mister Mister Sep 28th, 2017 at 8:32 pm

Went to see this with a open mind after reading all the reviews. I should have saved my money and bought a bike part. A bunch of aging ‘has been’s’ trying to capture what bit of dignity they have left, if any. I give it two thumbs down.

  50. 50 Juli Moody Dec 25th, 2017 at 5:36 pm

I am not surprised to see all these negative remarks coming from people that are brave, smart, cool behind their keyboard. Putting everyone and a everything down without looking how pathetic their little life’s are , Ready to take down everyone else with their keyboard . Shame….. if you own a bike you need to sell it!!!!
I am a professional stunt woman and body double. I had my first bike at the age of 12 cause my dad thought it was the right thing to do since my 3 brothers got bikes . That started a very confident young girl to grow up becoming a medical PA and dedicating her love for motorcycles, competing in Pro Motocross , Extreme Strength Sports traveling around the world performing what she loves to do stunts .
Before you critique people maybe is best to think first cause you may not know their story.
