The Indian Scout FTR750, Flat Track’s Most Dominant Motorcycle, Now Available in 2018 with $350,000 In Performance Incentives

Indian Motorcycle Racing, which captured the 2017 American Flat Track Manufacturer’s Championship, is offering professional flat track race teams and privateers unmatched incentives to compete on its premier Scout FTR750 race bike. More than $350,000 in contingency is available for those who ride an Indian for 2018.

The Scout FTR750 powered arguably the most dominant season in flat track history, as the Indian Wrecking Crew swept the American Flat Track Championship and combined for 14 total wins, 37 podiums and six podium sweeps. Jared Mees, the 2017 Grand National Champion, won 10 races and set a new single-season record with 17 total podiums.

“After a historic return to professional racing, and the incredible success of the Scout FTR750 and our factory team, we are committing to support privateer racers who ride an Indian in 2018,” said Reid Wilson, Marketing Director – Indian Motorcycle. “Beyond the Indian Wrecking Crew, we received strong and enthusiastic feedback from select privateer riders who raced the Scout FTR750 during the 2017 season.”

Indian Motorcycle Racing’s contingency structure breaks down by the following: Championship – $25,000, 1st – $5,000, 2nd – $4,000, 3rd – $3,000, 4th – $2,000, 5th – $1,000, 6th – $900, 7th – $800,       8th – $700, 9th – $600, 10th – $500. 50k is pretty cheap for a race ready competitive bike, very few make any money racing as a privateer but if your competitive with the big boys you got a better shot at at becoming a big dog

$50K is about the price of two Harley baggers. Not bad for a handmade tech racer that excels at high level competition. This isn’t a tweaked road cruiser, so the Scout name is superfluous.

And THAT is how you run a race division. Great job.

I totally expect one or maybe even two HD factory guys to jump ship.

In 1977 I raced “B” division stock cars on short tracks. The top 2 competitors in that division had over $25k in their car to win a $250 dollar purse. It ain’t never been about the money.

In the 70s I watched the best local speedway racers vie for the grand prize…a Barum 22 inch rear tire.

i have built three caliber GNC bikes and over 25 vintage flat trackers, even have our own frame building company.

Believe me Indian isn’t making a penny on the Scout race bikes. for 50K to be able to be 95% perfect out of the box, it’s a steal for sure. Thank god someone has really stepped up to try and save American Flat track racing thank you!
