I know this seems like a common reply, but $190.00 for a piece of tin/steel with holes stamped in it appears a little pricey! Something around $40.00 to $55.00 seems like a good price to sell a bunch of these skid plates.
Everyone wants American made parts but no one is willing to pay the price it costs to manufacture in the US…

Can’t really blame people like Boots though. With the ease and convenience if computers, internet, Walmart and Amazon….it’s easy to lose sight of what it exactly cost to design, make and sell goods. Especially if they have spent their entire adult lives acquiring everything they own through a card swipe and/or click of a mouse.
American’s like to bash on foreign made goods alot, but ironically, it’s people in foreign countries like China, who still understand and appreciate what goes into something. It’s because they don’t have the luxuries and privileges like we do here in the States.

Quality costs, but a lot of the same people that wave the flag so hard for America only want to buy cheap Chinese junk to put on their bikes. You can’t have it both ways.
No matter if it’s steel or aluminum anybody complaining about price should go buy a punch shear welder roller ect and a building to make the parts in for something not every household needs than come back on here and tell me how much money their rolling in don’t forget the electricity advertising insurance,support small business when you can but understand just cause there small doest mean they can give it away

I make about 1500 different part numbers for vintage Indian motorcycles for 30 years. My reply to anyone commenting on price is, you get it made and warehouse it and I will order it off you one at a time and pay as I order them. I’ve never had a taker yet.
Some people usually have no problem pissing their money away on beer, cigarettes or going out for an over rated dinner and over paying. Poof it’s gone but to have a nicely made part, oh no.
Thank you Cyril for publishing our new Skid Plates. Just to give your readers an idea of construction, First we laser cut the pattern in 1/8” aluminum. Next we bend the side rails up 90 degrees in the break press. The side walls are omitted in the curved area because they won’t bend with the curve. A Custom die is made and used in a heavy ton press to form the radius of the Skid Plate that contours the Bike frame. Next we TIG weld laser cut curved pieces into the curve of the plate to complete the side rails. Then the welds are ground smoothly and the entire Skid Plate is sanded with a DA. Some of you miss the point, people who never go off road are more likely to buy this, off roaders probably already have something similar. If I want one I would make it, buy a piece of aluminum, bend it up cut some pieces to weld drill some holes ask a friend to weld it, but that’s if I want one.
One quick cruise through YouTube and you will see a bunch of off-road Sporty action. Dar filling a market niche. Well done, sir.
