FX Confirmed It Will Air A Spin-Off Of The Sons Of Anarchy Drama Titled “Mayans MC”

The drama show ended 4 years ago on the FX cable network, but Sons Of Anarchy mastermind Kurt Sutter returns to co-create and executive produce the spin-off “Mayans MC” with an almost all latino cast.

Sons of Anarchy, FX’s highest-rated drama, concluded in 2014 after a seven-season run. Mayans MC will come to FX either this summer or early in the fall, marking the 10-year anniversary of the start of Sons of Anarchy’s run.

“Kurt Sutter is a master storyteller, and Mayans MC has the raw energy and intensity that are hallmarks of his signature style,” FX Networks programming chief Nick Grad said in a statement. “Thanks to Kurt, co-creator Elgin James and this amazing cast, Mayans MC builds on the legacy of Sons of Anarchy, taking it in a thrilling new direction that we can’t wait for the world to see.”

I have to admit I was hooked on the SOA series … thought it ridiculous some of the following, apparel, etc … still I am looking forward to checking out “Mayans MC” … I wonder if we will see some of the old SOA cast. Who played the P of the Mayans? Emilio Rivera I think ??

I must confess . As ridiculous and unrealistic as SoA was it was a guilty pleasure of mine as well .

    Question is . Will FX’s be worth turning on ? I’m kind of betting _ _ _ not .

Seems like an odd part of the original show to focus on with a spin-off, but whatever!

The show should help the new Samson exhaust sell a lot of fishtail Softail true dual exhaust systems.

I will watch it and hope it breathes some $$$$ in the motorcycle industry.

Laffing Devils made me physically sick. SOA was a good drama, if unrealistic. I look forward to the new series. Sutter is a flawed creator, but he does create good drama.

This is NOT what motorcycling needs. Shows like Mayan MC just provide more negative image reinforcement for the anti-motorcycle contingent. Part of the problem with biker profiling and patch bans is the false image SOA projects of motorcyclists as criminal misfits.

In cae you missed the problem, Millennials and GenZ are not attracted to motorcycles, branding like SOA and the projections of this mythical biker life are part of it. I was pleased to learn that the central figure was wiped in the last episode because I thought it would put the show in the grave permanently.
    Guess it doesn’t.

Nobody will be forced to watch it, turn the channel——————-I’ll certainly give it a try, I admittedly loved SOA and know plenty of other people that did also—————thus the high ratings

I suppose I am the only on earth that has never seen an episode of this show. Not one.

So this is a Hispanic version of SOA, it will certainly appeal to MS13 etal, if they send me a dollar for every time time they use the word “cholo” I’ll be rich. They could have picked up the show with a different chapter new cast, oh well. Thing is tv shows don’t need to take the blame for the “biker image” all those movies in the 60s did that. Does anyone really think that a club, or any group could get away with all that activity in a small town and they wouldn’t bring in the damn national guard? Anyway what kind of club couldn’t keep an old panhead running?

  27. 27 Spaz Jan 10th, 2018 at 2:37 pm

Was this show violent? Well, almost every character in the strip of photos was murdered, so…

  28. 28 Axel Sep 17th, 2018 at 11:54 am

Just entertainment? There was very little entertainment on SOA. The show was about as ugly a depiction of life as is possible to put on TV. Note I didn’t say biker life, because there was so little motorcycle riding that lots of the actors barely knew how to ride at all and only a few of them actually liked to ride. Sutter is the master at portraying over the top violence, betrayal, corruption, thievery and conniving without a trace of loyalty or honor of any kind. In the real world no one could stand to live in a world of his making.
