A Message From Tucker Rocky|Bikers Choice To Its Dealers And Vendors

To All Valued Tucker Rocky Dealers:

“
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and are looking forward to the 2018 riding season. I want to kick off the year by sharing some very good news. Wednesday, January 10th, Tucker Rocky filed its Disclosure Statement and Plan for restructuring our debt with the bankruptcy court—this is a major milestone. These documents outline the legal structure of MAG and Tucker Rocky upon emergence from Chapter 11. Our goal was to move through this process in 4 to 6 months while conducting “business as usual”. We are very much on target to accomplish that. Soon, we will emerge from chapter 11 a much stronger company.

I want to take a moment to address our vendor relationships. I know there has been some “noise” in the industry and I want to ensure you are getting the facts. As you would expect, the Chapter 11 filing caused concern for many of our vendors, and rightly so. But it’s important that you know that we have been working very hard to get our vendors paid in full. We are in the final stage of securing ongoing commitments with our vendors that represent 99% of our revenue. Our business is built on a platform of strong, personal relationships that we have every intention of maintaining. Just like you, our vendors are valued partners.

Looking Forward:

• The Tucker Rocky Dealer and Brand Expo is taking place February 8-9, and we are already seeing an increase in registrations over last year. Now is the time to register if you haven’t already done so. The registration link is HERE
• We are working closely with our Expo vendors to finalize special programs designed to help you prepare for the upcoming season.
• We have and will continue to take aggressive actions to make sure we have the inventory ready to fill your orders.
• There will also be education seminars designed to help you expand and grow your business, from LightSpeed to visual merchandising and social media marketing.|
• Upon conclusion of the Expo, Friday night we will be hosting our Dealer Appreciation celebration. Our way of thanking you for your partnership.
In closing, thank you for your support as we’ve been working through this process. It is greatly appreciated. We are looking forward to returning that support by helping you to expand and grow your business in 2018.”

Sincerely, Kenan Ikels VP, Sales & Marketing

Yep, I’ve heard this story before.

Stop being so self serving and screwing the people you owe!. Pay up or shut up.

The courts will tell the truth!

hopefully this patch will stick and the pressure won’t build again any time soon, MAGA

  5. 5 Just Saying Jan 13th, 2018 at 6:45 pm

So Mag owes 300 million, affecting people’s lively hood and you are asking those people to trust you and go without payment for 4- 6 months. You are asking those same companies to keep shipping product to MAG/ Tucker Rocky give 60 day terms on these orders and they will get paid for the old orders in 4-6 months. We all know what will happen in 4-6 months, pennies on the dollar or chapter 13 and nothing at all. Kenan Ikels will you be going without pay for 4-6 months also? I don’t think so

  6. 6 Shoptech407 Jan 13th, 2018 at 8:58 pm

Let’s face it people… The vendors won’t get paid in full. It will be just like Custom Chrome.

It is the american way of big business. Top executives, and their lawyers fly to court hearings in their corporate jets…

  8. 8 BD Jan 14th, 2018 at 9:58 am

this happens all the time..Just complete bull shet I personally was s screwed by several of these upstanding low life cockroaches. I hope they go broke and out of business just like they are going to do to some of their suppliers cockroaches!!

  9. 9 Nobody Jan 14th, 2018 at 11:13 am

Most of you don’t know what your talking about! Us as one of those vendors has already received payments in full and now have a Zero balance. The catch is we agreed to continue to do business as usual but had to extend terms from 30 to 45 for 15 months. Peace Out!

  10. 10 Little Rider Jan 14th, 2018 at 6:39 pm

Same old same old…. Just a different name.

When a company owes that much money, the last thing a vendor and a dealer wants to hear is that money is wasted in some Dealer Appreciation celebration party nobody cares about …. are you kidding?

How many people really want to celebrate when you are on the verge of letting people go as part of a new structure and struggling to keep the doors open?

Is TR going to fix everything by training dealers to post on social media and increase visual merchandising? What a joke.

  11. 11 USAYGO Jan 14th, 2018 at 9:33 pm

@ Nobody, As one of the vendors that has been in business for almost three decades and have not received a penny of the multiple thousands of dollars we are owed, we have stopped doing business withTR because we have been through this before and we know the outcome . Glad you did get paid for old invoices but you are the only one I’ve heard of that has. And you are not doing business as usual if you have changed your terms to their terms are you? Good luck.

Who cares. Like Drag isn’t crooked. All vendors lie. Most manufacturers lie.

Retail and dealer direct is the wave of the future. Why give a percentage to a middleman any longer? Give the saved expense back to the consumer by way of lower prices. The sales volume will increase as well as increased profits.

This blog would be a lot better if folks weren’t able to talk shit from behind a wall. Cyril, ever consider making folks use their names when posting? Or would that choke off the Jerry Springer appeal? I realize there’s a danger of people shying away from leaking stories, but I’m curious if it’d be worth it to get rid of wondering what % of smack talk is from mom’s basements or similar.

I’ve been in the M/C related business since 1967, this coming June, will be my 50th Laconia ! I met Tom McMullen, of AEE Fame in 70/71, He had the Silver/Purple Winged Tank & Yellow Sportster, with a Supercharger there ! For my money, Tom started all this Craziness ! I see all the Big Rigs set-up there, & wonder how they do it, discount prices, lodging, payroll, travel, etc. ? Then MAG starts buying everybody ? I’ve been to J&P, in Iowa, I never wanted to get that Big, gotta give John credit, He got out, before being Burnt !

I started in 1967, as a paint shop, selling Durfee Girders & D&D Springers, Jammer parts, etc. ! Staying small, is the key ! I’m still small, but, with the http://WWW., I sell to the world, me & my lady ! This coming weekend, we will be closing on RogueChopper/Scavenger, we have been Dealers since 2004 ! Everytime, I go into a Stealership, I’m always amazed at the chrome shit, made in China, that guys are buying ?

I wish everybody a Happy & Safe New Year, Boston Jim & Nancy

Woody’s. You can’t oblige anyone to use their real name when commenting online. They can use the username of their choice. It’s the law in the US and most countries around the world.

Hey Tucker purchased MAG that was already in trouble. All you guys bashing them obviously don’t understand that they bought a debt that needs restructuring. How about thanks to Tucker , If it was not for them all those MAG brands would be gone. I can personally tell you from working hands on in the industry, this will not harm Tucker but make them stronger in the long run. Go Tucker make it happen!

  22. 22 Shoptech407 Jan 15th, 2018 at 7:24 pm

They took an almost defunct group of companies and tried to make them profitable. They were unsuccessful. Now they will successfully get out of having to pay most of the 300m debt. as a result some / most vendors will not get paid in full. Eventually They will have inventory issues.

My drag rep tells me that as soon as the parts from any vendor hit their loading dock a check goes out to the vendor that very same day.

My shop always has and will continue to order the mag items from drag because 90% of the time they are in stock.

  23. 23 Steve Carr Jan 16th, 2018 at 6:37 am

This Ol’ boy will never send a penny to Drag, We were treated like a red headed step child by a Drag Rep when we first opened our shop. Talked down to, and told we would not be in business in 5 years by this guy. Needless to say Tucker took us on board and We have never looked back. Never needed anything Drag offers and as I am concerned never will.

    Hey Steve

we have a shop close by to us that does not buy any parts from Drag. We seem to get all of their customers coming to our shop telling us that they cannot get what they want from the guy down the street. We love it!

Does your shop have a dirt floor too? 🙂

    ^ BOOM!

  26. 26 maytag Jan 17th, 2018 at 6:27 am

My drag rep tells me that as soon as the parts from any vendor hit their loading dock a check goes out to the vendor that very same day.

Your Drag rep is a liar. Drag uses the travel time from the vendor to them to extend their 30 day terms. Fact.

  27. 27 Gershom Jan 17th, 2018 at 11:44 am

Maytag……pretty sure Drag doesn’t take delivery of product, then call the vendor looking for deeper discounts and longer terms after its been received. We weren’t happy when a “distributor” tried to pull that last year.

  28. 28 Shoptech407 Jan 17th, 2018 at 9:41 pm

    Hey Maytag

I told my drag guy that you said he was a liar. He says hand to God it is the truth that they pay their vendors the same day they receive the parts. He also said you should do what maytags do best and sit there on the floor and take peoples Loads

  29. 29 maytag Jan 17th, 2018 at 11:02 pm

I’m sure the accounting office is right next to the loading dock door and the comptroller is sitting there dolling out checks. Yeah, right. Keep drinking the Kool-aid, mmm good. He’ll probably tell you they don’t compete against you by selling discount through their Dennis Kirk retail outlet either. Or how they’ve managed to grow while the dealer base continues to shrink year after year, mostly forced out of business by every internet whore without a storefront that they (and T-R/MAG) supply. Do some research, talk to people who have been in this business for decades and have seen how it all plays out. Post your email address and I’ll send you a copy of The LeMans Corporation Terms and Conditions. You’ll need cheaters (unless you’re as wet behind the ears as you appear), as the fine print is pretty small.

  30. 30 takehikes Jan 20th, 2018 at 12:11 pm

Boston Jim is spot on. I worked for Tom McMullen at AEE Choppers and you can thank and blame him for the whole chopper parts aftermarket. He built the model that so many have followed only he made his and got out and did not screw any vendors. I’ll also say that other than a handful of common parts on the market all our stuff was made in house or by local area vendors.

Terms: shipped once payment has been received.
