Burt Munro Whisky Sold For Charity

John Munro, the son of Legendary racer Burt Munro is going to sell/auction a special edition bottle of whisky created to honor his achievements.

The public auction will be held this coming Friday, 8pm to 9.30pm, at Motorcycle Mecca in New Zealand with the proceeds going to the Riverton Coast Guards.

The whisky will be launched during the Burt Munro Challenge on Friday at Motorcycle Mecca. “John liked whisky, and so do I” says John. The bottle price is $184.71, the same as his land speed record which was 184.71 miles per hour.

Indian Motorcycle, E Hayes & Sons, Meccaspresso, Invercargill City Council, Venture Southland and Bill Richardson Transport World are the main sponsors. “The level of interest in this limited edition release has exceeded all expectations. A Facebook post advising of the limited release received over 115,000 views and hundreds of orders from right around the world in a single week.
