“American Chopper” Paul Teutul Alleges He Is Broke And Files For Personal Bankruptcy.

American Chopper returned to TV after a 5-Year break. In the first episode on March 1st, Paul Sr and Jr talk again and helped each other install front forks… And now Paul Sr alleges he’s broke and had to file for Chapter 13 in New York just the day before, February 28. Quite a sense of drama… Paul Sr would own $1,801,729 in assets, and would owe 50 creditors $1,070,893.44. Teutul Sr  would make $15,070.93 per month, but would spend $12,612.

Regarding his assets, Teutul would have listed his home in Montgomery, New York, a 2011 Chevy Camaro, 2010 Dodge Challenger, 2009 Chevy Corvette and a “few pistols” worth around $200. Teutul Sr would as also owe a $32,000 judgment against him, $151,230.98 in taxes to the Town of Crawford, NY as well as $21,000 to multiple credit card companies. The business Orange County Choppers belongs to him but it is claimed as having a $0.00 value…It is evident that Paul Sr is trying hard to protect his business, house and cars from all creditors.

Rich guys who don’t pay their debts suck.

  2. 2 Xenu Mar 3rd, 2018 at 10:24 am

Maybe he should get a paper route.

  3. 3 Jeremy Mar 3rd, 2018 at 10:26 am

Cyril, you know him. Ask him how anyone goes to bankruptcy after 10 years of reality show on the Discovery Channel.

  4. 4 David Waterloo Mar 3rd, 2018 at 10:30 am

He got big assets. Sell some and pay what you owe, instead of the others not getting paid.

  5. 5 J. Martino Mar 3rd, 2018 at 10:31 am

Orange County Choppers is also a negative asset for the mc industry.

  6. 6 BOSS HAWG Mar 3rd, 2018 at 10:35 am

Hope he falls flat on his face.

In my opinion, this could not have happened to a finer “asshole”. Tax debt is not forgiven either!

Puts one of the biggest jerks right down there on the bottom shelf in good company with Kevin and Mona.

Some choppers can be a rough ride.

  8. 8 Heavy Metal Mar 3rd, 2018 at 10:59 am

Where did all the money go? It had to be flowing in during the 10 plus years of stupid TV. Fugly bikes, snot nosed Paul Jr. I watched one time and never gave them another shot.

  9. 9 pabstbluerigid Mar 3rd, 2018 at 11:12 am

lol, millions & millions were generated by merchandising! remember the countless t-shirts, cheap die-cast toys, models, ball caps, etc.

these (2) teutuls, father & son were an embarrassment! s many “kids” went to MMI only to find out techs make a $10.00 guarantee and/or commission/flatrate

‘Rick’ is doing G-R-E-A-T cuz’ he had TALENT.

snickering I am, lol….KARMA is sooooooooooooo sweet.

    * I just feel bad for the distributors/folks who will get screwed by not getting paid! HE SHOULD BE FORCED TO LIQUIDATE ALL….ALL ASSETS cept for HOME & (1) VEHICLE!!!!!

  10. 10 Boots Mar 3rd, 2018 at 1:36 pm

He’s just taking on the government in a way that he can keep all of his toys and skip out on having to sell everything to take care of the bills and taxes!!

  11. 11 Tom Ryan Mar 3rd, 2018 at 1:51 pm

From the previous OCC episodes it showed Paul Sr. had one great looking multi-million dollar home and surrounding property. I don’t understand how you can list this home and the vehicles etc. for only a total of $200 dollars? I don’t know anything about U.S. bankruptcy law, however, by placing these items at such an unbelievable low value, isn’t that kinda’ like perpetrating a fraud?

  12. 12 Knucklehead Mar 3rd, 2018 at 1:55 pm

He’s smart and yes using the system. I read once his worth was above $45,000,000.

  13. 13 P. Hamilton Mar 3rd, 2018 at 2:47 pm

Tom Ryan, the pistols at $200. Not the housse.

  14. 14 Jay Mar 3rd, 2018 at 2:52 pm

Paul Teutul is like Donald Trump. Never paying his bills on time and only a % of debts. They call themselves proudly kings of debt. Even easier to make a profit this way when you have no talent, they realize.

  15. 15 Bill Prater Mar 3rd, 2018 at 2:57 pm

By the way the first episode this week was a Pilot. Don’t know the viewing number. Discovery may cancel the show. Who is this idiot working now for Senior?

  16. 16 BD Mar 3rd, 2018 at 4:03 pm

it is much faster a trip on the way down than on the way up!!!!!!

  17. 17 Patrick Mar 3rd, 2018 at 4:13 pm

It took 14 posts to mention Trump. I’d have missed the over under by about 13.

  18. 18 Xenu Mar 3rd, 2018 at 4:35 pm

    Reality show, check.
    Bankrupt, check.
    Angry, check.

  19. 19 Jeez Mar 3rd, 2018 at 5:33 pm

Paul Teutul Senior (you can add Paul Jr). You meet on your way down the same people that you met on your way up. Karma has not fully arrived, yet.

    P. Hamilton, you’re right, I screwed up big time! Must be my sleep apnea!

Well this didn’t happen overnight. Wayyyyyy back in high school my Accounting teacher ingrained in us to NEVER under-value your assets! peace

  23. 23 Coma Mar 4th, 2018 at 9:59 am

Oh great! That’ll help him to build more crap bikes in even more crappy episodes of this bad excuse of a tv show.

  24. 24 Francesco Mar 4th, 2018 at 11:22 am

Je préfère regarder des series de ce type plutôt qu’écouter certaine conneries de tous ces gauchos qui mèneront le monde a sa perte.

  25. 25 GYM Mar 4th, 2018 at 11:29 am

He pulled the same trick on the bank when it came to the loans on his building to renegotiate the terms. What ever happen to that stripper looking wife with the black hair? I saw a photo of him with a blond woman who was listed as a girl friend.

I hate to admit it but I watched the pilot. Laughed my way through the whole thing. Little Paulie is still bolting those fat tire monstrosities together. Notice they all have the same lines? Forgive me God but I can’t take my eyes off this train wreck!

  28. 28 Woody's Mar 4th, 2018 at 6:32 pm

Could care less about him or the show, but that includes wasting energy trashing him. I don’t see any reason for this microscopic look at him and his finances even needed to be printed. As for the bankruptcy thing, anyone who isn’t smart enough to separate their home from a business worth more than their home is insane. Everybody here would like to keep their home if they declared bankruptcy. I don’t defend him in any way, but it is pathetic that there was nothing better to write about then this detailed look at his finances.

Looks to me anyway he ran out of steroids too.

  35. 35 NJBrian Mar 5th, 2018 at 4:17 pm

So he’s worth MORE than he owes.
And he makes MORE than he spends.
How does that justify claiming bankruptcy?
    It shouldn’t even be allowed.

  36. 36 donny brasco Mar 5th, 2018 at 6:03 pm

Been to OCC and the sell t-shirts and crap they don’t build real bikes, and this isn’t the first time he’s screwed creditors!

  37. 37 Pop Mar 5th, 2018 at 7:19 pm

So the industry is going down the dumper and this could be real.
OTOH, Teutul and his brood are the WWE of customizing. OCC was not a chop shop, it was a motorcycle entertainment hub and tee shirt emporium.
Because of that and the fact that they have ridden this gravy train for 16 years + through many soap opera contrived plot twists, I’m calling BS.
Even if I’m wrong and he’s on the skids, I wouldn’t give him the time of day.

  38. 38 hacksaw Mar 6th, 2018 at 2:56 am

i guess paul is a normal guy after all. haters will hate.

  39. 39 Sas Hunter Mar 6th, 2018 at 9:50 am

I read paul was worth 120 million so where is that hidden ?

  40. 40 takehikes Mar 6th, 2018 at 10:38 am

I’m guessing the cash is sitting in the Caymen’s. If he’s broke he’s a bigger idiot than I thought he was.
As someone who worked in the real chopper field in its hey dey of the early 70’s I can tell you they and he were never chopper builders by any stretch of the imagination.

  41. 41 boston jim Mar 6th, 2018 at 3:36 pm

My understanding is back when the “Chopper King” was scouting Bike Builders for the Discovery Channel, He picked a Shop from New Hampshire ? Then He found out the Shop didn’t really Fabricate the frames, etc. So His 2nd choice was OCC, the Ornamental Railing Shop must have impressed him ! OCC went from Ornamental Railings to Ornamental Bikes ? It is, what it is !

PS, Does anybody know, who the N.H. Shop was ?

  42. 42 1901-1953 Mar 8th, 2018 at 1:32 am

Local Fleet pride store told me a story. Senior walked into his local Fleet pride store. Helped himself to some stuff. Walked out!! They yelled at him to stop. He replied “don’t you know who I am”?

Discovery shows are all suspect. American pickers where bottom feeders at Davenport AMCA meet. Frank had a 1915 Harley frame and fender that “went missing at the ups sorting facility in Shrewsbury Mass.
Discovery stepped in and paid everyone off to keep quit.

  43. 43 1901-1953 Mar 8th, 2018 at 3:01 pm

    @ Boston Jim

Could be R&R cycles. in Manchester.
Make engines from blocks of AL. not really chopper builders. They do supply engines to Perawitz, Bourget etc.
From what i heard. senior tried to get Discovery to do his show. They weren’t interested.

So he funded the first few shows. the rest was history.

  44. 44 Davis Mar 12th, 2018 at 2:26 pm

Yes haters will hate, would have done just like them under the same circumstances. There may never be another time when OCC or the like will reamerge again, but all I can say is there was a void in the market and they filled it, good or bad. There is only so much talent out here and even that is dwindling each year.

And gives the industry a bad name? What industry are you even talking about? I have no illusions of who and what I am and turning THIS industry into anything else would be a “poser” act, let it be and they will come, hype and wooing will just turn it into a fade anyway.

  45. 45 boston jim Mar 12th, 2018 at 5:36 pm

    @ 1901-1953

I know both Reggie’s at R&R, I would have heard something, but, I’ll ask them ! A friend of mine Steve Stone, a Rats Hole winner, built a nice bike using a 155″ R&R motor ! Amazing Bike !

PS, Have you ever been to the Indian Museum in Springfield, Ma. ? I go to Indian Day every July, Great Time !

    PSS, KAG (keep america great)

  46. 46 1901-1953 Mar 12th, 2018 at 7:43 pm

    @Boston Jim

Yeas I do. Live south of Boston!
Had R&R do my Dresser motor over,
    been threw there shop.

  47. 47 nicker Mar 12th, 2018 at 11:48 pm

The issue isn’t that all those OCC antics reflected badly on “the industry”…

The issue is that all of us who worked diligently in our garages and shops to acquire the knowledge, skills, and technology to create unique expressions of our individuality, were “stained” (for lack of a better term) by the clownish behavior of that OCC TV debacle…

If you were one who had achieved such thing, the ability to claim those achievements by way of a resume or other such recognition were forever “stolen” from you by OCC…. And for that reason alone i would hope fate doesn’t look kindly on their next endeavor….

    @ 1901-1953

Hey, Got Snow ? Are you near Perewitz ? What did R&R do to your motor ? Laconia is 3 months away !

  49. 49 1901-1953 Mar 13th, 2018 at 4:55 pm

    @ Boston Jim

Driving into Boston. Lost oil pump gear at Keystone building. By the time I got off at the Freeport exit. Motor was toast.
Reggie’s sister did the motor. She no longer works there. Had to let her go (must make for an interesting Christmas dinner)
Live less than 10 Miles to Perawitz. Was there last week. Delivering a part I made for him.

  50. 50 1901-1953 Mar 13th, 2018 at 5:09 pm

They did a bike for Gillette.
    What a circus!!
Staged a shaving cream fight in our shave test booths. Millions of dollars’ worth of equipment. The only thing that made the show was an old pantograph machine.
We engraved a gold blade for them. Senior yelled at the guy to hurry up.
My boss wanted me to grab mickey. And have him run my multi axis mill/turn lathe. I was like no way. I am not kissing his ass!

Jody and Dave Perawitz are really nice people. very down to earth.!!

  51. 51 BikerBoi Apr 5th, 2018 at 10:02 am

Serves him right. He is insane and an asshole. I hope he ends up homeless. He had no appreciation for his workers or his family. Such a man deserves nothing.
