The Scout Bobber build-off is a competition for non-professional bike builders, those building for passion, not for a paycheck. In a first step 3 builders must be selected by their renderings explaining the one of a kind Scout Bobber then want to build. Winners will be selected using a combination of fan votes (until April 19) and a panel of judges with winners announced April 24. Vote now by going to THE WRENCH. Indian Motorcycle will arm the selected top three builders with a new 2018 stock Indian Scout Bobber and provide a build budget of $10,000. The three custom Scout Bobbers will be unveiled in July, followed by a fan vote. The winner will be announced at the Legendary Buffalo Chip during the 2018 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
Just a few of the submitted renderings. All are HERE.
Third from the top looks the most probable @ a budget of $10K.
Not sure what that chop will do w/ the radiator.
The dragbike would be a nice change from all the bobbers and cafe bikes.
Indian, time for some new platforms…..
Karlee at Klock Werks all read built the best looking Indian hands down
Karlee is not builder. She is an accountant at Klok Werks who built 2 bikes under her name.
One on top can be built within budget. all parts will be hand built in house. done more with less budget.
Took the link that brought me to Indian’s site with all of the drawings. Not for nothing, but if you’re going to enter the contest, don’t submit a drawing that looks like you had your eight year old do for you. Also, If you’re going to start with an Indian Scout Bobber, maybe your drawing should have an Indian Scout engine, not an Indian Chief’s.
Personally, I like road racing look concepts submitted by PJ Grakauskas, and Cody Brouwers.
Matt Landman and Christian Newman I dig your concepts!
My prize for the wackiest entries will be shared between Jon Lefevers and Kyle Kompas. Way to go dudes!
WHAT THE F***
Did none of them read the TITLE? “BOBBER BUILD OFF!!!!!!”
So that’s strip off unnecessary dress up parts. NO FRAME MODS . Pair of Ape hangers . No front mudguard .
Isn’t it simple?
Give me $10,000 bucks to take bits off and add new bars and a Sprung SADDLE (NOT SEAT)
I might even have $9000 bucks left to hardtail the frame paint it black with nice flames.
Job done.
J’aime bien la “69”
