Harley-Davidson Confirms LiveWire on Schedule for 2019 Release. An aging primary demographic is forcing the American manufacturer to shift its current marketing and branding strategies in an effort to stay relevant, and profitable. No model better encompasses this change in direction than the upcoming, fully-electric Livewire—which Harley just confirmed is still poised for a debut sometime around the Summer of 2019.

In 2020 Ducati Motorcycles To Get Front And Radar Systems. Blind spot warnings, collision warnings and adaptive cruise control(. The Ducati Radar System Is Called ARAS (Advanced Rider Assistance System) In addition to this, Ducati is also planning to implement ABS Cornering as a standard fitment. How these features will fit in with the motorcycling experience?
Will H-D create their own battery using their own synthetic cobalt?
Why does a motorcycle need radar? The bikes we are riding continue to get infused with more and more electronic gear that doesn’t enhance the ride whatsoever. The majority of these “improvements” do nothing but raise the price of the bike along with the maintenance costs!
Designed by engineers for engineers. All the electronics distract the riders from looking where they are going and situational awareness. You will see the accident rate go up.
The motorcycles need radars so that their riders can devote much needed attention to their handlebar-mounted “smart” phones and other attention-grabbing e-gadgets installed by the motorcycle manufacturers (fiddling with riding “modes” on the fly, setting cruise control, etc.). Vicious cycle (pun intended, indeed!)
If you fly by gauges you’re not watching the road.
Hehe, some comments have me envisioning an Amish inspired biker club that shuns all technology beyond 1968 ;).
matt w. – technology that takes the place of rider involvement is not what many people want in a motorcycle. not to mention the added cost. nothing to do with amish bashing or those whom love their pre 1968 motorcycles. most riders today couldn’t even start a bike from that decade. and really, those that cant shouldn’t even be on the road. kinder, gentler motorcycles are appliances. i will invest in a new fridge.
