Must admit I was a little shocked to see the pics of the fork extensions…. I had no idea they were doing that so early on. I just assumed this was an invention of the 60’s….. learn something new everyday!
The front end in the first photo almost looks photo shopped,,,but if not, that guy was way ahead of his time. I really dig the shoe designed sidecar and his pooch seems happy too. Thanks Cyril.
And I thought Coker tires were the scariest relic of the time. Check out the lady (behind the one with the long dress) – WOW, they do not make them like that any more…
Btw – the Dutch script on the rather sizeable delivery ‘bike’ says: “Butter, Cheese, Cake and Rusks/Biscuits”. Imagine navigating such a load on a contraption like that – amazing..!
The Acme isn’t “shopped” because their shop window clearly says Choppers.
The Bojete is something else. Might be a photo-shop transition-line behind the steering head, but the highway pegs are obviously a Benjamin Buttons period aftermarket accessory with bicycle handlebar grips as foot peg covers.
I’m pretty sure the front forks in the first picture are not photoshopped. I think it’s a modern picture made to look old. Look at the window behind the guy. It has a skull and cross bones with the word “Chopper.” We all know the word chopper as it relates to motorcycles is nowhere near as old as the picture depicts. Modern motorcycle made to look like it’s from that period with a rider wearing period correct carb. None the less, it’s a killer picture and it makes me want to see more of the motorcycle
Great photo from set of “The Great Escape”.
This type of visual delight gets my brushes vibrating, I
so love this type of imagery.

Those old pics are always a treasure to look at.

And bring back those 20’s twin-horse chariots…. fun hogs!
Still hoping to see that goofy contraption from “Nacho Libre”.
It would fit right in with some of these kooky rides!
The extended forks pics are photoshop.
Good stuff i would like to see more photos like that on this blog
The two long bikes are definitely photoshopped. Man, did some of you guys just get the internet yesterday?
Lol, must’ve been the way they were mixed with the untouched photos……I’m usually not that gullible.
*good lord* if you thought those choppers were real, you should not be into motorcycles. period.

Greta images Cyril! Thanks once again for sharing this kind of stuff with us, and increasing our knowledge of this amazing hobby!
@ Seymour, great advice! Starting today I will “no longer be into motorcycles, period.”
Thank you Larry – Zan. – Better than Snopes !!!
Photoshop or not those are some great photos to look at!!!
Great shot of A.N. Other, aka Steve McQueen
The first one is definitely photoshopped. Even the font used for Acme is a common (and ugly) used font.
