You know that new crush gaskets should be used when installing new exhaust headers. And when you do, it’s a good idea to use beveled pipe gaskets. The bevel edges tend to center the exhaust header pipe in the exhaust port, preventing the risk of leaks. For all Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Sold in pair. $13.95. At Samson USA.

Looks good,but i use copper.
They look the same as factory HD’s to me.
And what is the difference from H.D.’s – Lower price?
I use the beveled gaskets and by using a tool made by “JIMS” part number #788 it is very easy to install them.
Only James exhaust gaskets for me. The tapered type of gaskets tend to push into the port opening and restrict/interrupt air flow.
Good job marketing something H-D has been selling for decades.
The issue I have found on occasion is that the “beveled” gaskets can squish into the exhaust port, thus blocking exhaust flow right in the port. Though it may be but a minor issue it can will effect the engines ultimate performance. It is especially noticeable on heads with exhaust ports that have been enlarged.
It sure does look the same as stock H-D — I’ve seen those squish into the exhaust port too. I switched to the H-D SE gaskets that don’t squish into the port. Now I’m using tubular steel gaskets that come with some aftermarket exhausts..
Junk !
Haven’t used those in 20 years !
Like most of the comments here they restrict the exhaust flow because they squish into the port!
I have used the beveled seals with varying degrees of success. I have had these squish into the port as others have reported, but in my case, it was clearly a matter of not having the pipe properly aligned rather than a design flaw. I’ve also wrestled with exhaust systems and struggled to get them on to fit with these. Throw in a set of good old fashioned square gaskets and the pipes drop right on.
I believe that these gaskets seal better when set up correctly, but it seems to be a solution in search of a problem.
