The Wedge. A New Frame-Mount Fairing Designed for Mid-Size Motorcycles.

fairing1fairing2Finally, a frame-mounted fairing sized for mid-size motorcycles. No longer do riders of bikes like Harley-Davidson Dynas, FXRs and Sportsters; and Triumph Bonnevilles and Thruxtons, have to settle for a fork-mounted fairing. No more trying to adapt a full-size Bagger fairing to a smaller motorcycle.

The Wedge Fairing Kit offers the advantages that only a frame-mounted fairing can: a more stable ride, better wind protection and storage, all in a compact package!.

• Easy installation • Twin LED turn signals • Two halogen headlights (see and be seen) • Windshields available in 3 heights, in clear or tinted • Quality finish means only minor prep is needed before paint • Complete mounting kit: bracket, wiring harness, shield, and hardware

Manufactured in the USA. The Wedge Complete kit. MSRP $1395 + S&H. More info at Wedge Fairing 612-866-3977 or info@wedgefaring.com

    It was time.

I’m curious when the bikes listed became mid-sized? Seriously……

This would be great for victory motorcycle

Takehikes. C’ mon. It’s versus big touring bikes and you know it. Don’t try to be cute.

I remember in the early 80′ H-D came out with this frame mounted fairing. They were on shovels, per evo. I rode one and it handled very badly, the wind effects would blow you around the road. The aerodynamics were causing the bad handling. When it came to night riding you could not see where you were going when turning, of course it is mounted to the frame, and always pointed in one direction, from where the front wheel was pointed when turning. So AMF dropped it like a hot potato. It was one of W.G. Davidson’s worst design ripoffs of a Windjammer. Then 10 or so years later here it is again with W.G. in charge..and it still has the same problems. But some people love them anyway.

After putting 200,000 miles on my 1980 TourGlide, I can say this. Whomever BAJ is doesn’t know anything about motorcycles. If he thinks the headlight turns into a curve, he doesn’t ride. If I could find another one like like my ’80, I would get it. I traveled to 40 some States on that machine, and never, EVER had the wind give me any more difficulty than it would have on any other bike I’ve owned in the last 54 years. Bar fairings suck. Too much weight on the front end, slow down handling. Frame mounts put the weight on the chassis, where it belongs…Do the headlights on your Prius turn into a curve, BAJ?

Why did AMF and H-D drop them if they were so great? This is my opinion, and my experience riding one, and like a-holes every body has one. I bought a Bat-wing instead..

Pretty simple, actually. 1980-1996, then back again starting in ’98. It’s called a NEW MODEL…So do the headlights on your Prius turn with the steering wheel????

I dont know man…that thing looks like its hangin out there quite a ways…Im wondering about high speed stability/wobble…I hope the guys in MN really did there homework before they brought this out..

  10. 10 Zenaldo Apr 17th, 2015 at 11:44 pm

    How heavy I wonder ?

Would look good on my Fat Bob, I’m sure, but I will never be first to part with that much money…
    I’ll be watching reviews, though.

Agree – should look good on a Fatbob.

It should function well too – has an additional stabalizing frame and not much different to the RG fairing.

With a hot set-up on a Fatbob, nice paint, etc – it could in fact be a cool muscle sports tourer (standing out from the crowd a bit).

The side view looks as if it would easily take a 3/4 fairing addition .

  14. 14 pokergolf420 Apr 18th, 2015 at 8:16 am

Ruins the lines of the bike in my opinion.

  15. 15 Sharkey Apr 18th, 2015 at 8:51 am

A lot of frame underneath; lowers perhaps?

  16. 16 BobS Apr 18th, 2015 at 10:00 am

It would be cool if it had some kind of quick detach mechanism. I prefer riding 600 lb cruisers over 800-900 lb touring bikes and would gladly (in fact often do) throw bags and a sheild or fairing on for a trip. Better to tour on a cruiser than cruise on a tour. But if this is more of a permanent fixture…don’t try and make a Road Glide out of a Sporty or Dyna. If you want permanent fairing and bags, just save the expense and buy a RG.

    fxrt/rp !

  18. 18 U think U know me Apr 18th, 2015 at 5:14 pm

Damn. Just sold my Dyna….this is what I needed.

No so much TRIUMPH Bonnies and Thruxtons but certainly the Thunderbird and maybe even a Rocket III could benefit

  20. 20 Blackmax Apr 19th, 2015 at 11:58 am

You know the “Baggster” out of SD & Hoppe Industries
have similar applications for the H-D models.
(And I think for the Triumph Rocket Tour bagger, but i’m not for sure)
Baggster in know is a more complete conversion kit & hence more expensive
but I would think Hoppe would be comparable.

That thing is ridiculous. It’s nearly a foot further ahead than it should be. The rider would catch some severe buffeting from that.

  22. 22 takehikes Apr 20th, 2015 at 9:09 am

Paul…not being cute I’m serious. One of my pet peeves is what we call mid-sized and lightweight and so on. Total joke, I know I’ve got a big pig sitting at home and I have yet to do anything on it I couldn’t (and haven’t done) on a true mid-size which is certainly under 1k cc’s.
I’m not saying I don’t get it, the mind set has moved on to a different place. I knew reality was lost when the hot rod of the HD line became a “girls bike”. And so it goes…..cool thing is when we get to 3,ooo cc bikes then 1,500cc’s will be true mid-weight….lol

  23. 23 JohnyLetGo Apr 20th, 2015 at 9:37 am

Takehikes. You don’t get it at all. Size is not only the cc’s but the size of the motorcycle and/or weight.

  24. 24 Pop Apr 21st, 2015 at 5:05 am

    10-4 that Axel.

Futt bugly. I never have seen this fairing thing as a problem. Don’t want fairing- ride bike designed without, Want fairing- ride bike designed with.

Just saying think before saying to yourself “Hey, you know what this bike really needs? A bolt on fairing glommed onto the front end totally obliterating the characteristics that made me want it to begin with. Yeah that’s it, That’s the ticket.”

Or maybe you jumped the gun and now regret not having a fairing bike. Well, you could buy this thing and have your pretty FX end up looking like that forlorn mess or hey, they make thousands of fairing bikes every year and they actually look right and perform well.

John Hoppe debuted this idea at Cincy 5 years ago, and did a better job of scaling the faring to this size machine, IMSHO

  26. 26 Svante Apr 27th, 2015 at 2:52 am

If you can’t stand the wind buy a car. Not my bag

  27. 27 zenster Apr 4th, 2016 at 12:03 am

I think it would look great with a set of Corbin dyna saddle bags and chin fairing. The price though is outrageous. It doesnt even come with a stereo system
