Until the end of December, buy a Harley-Davidson or Buell and get a three-month deferred Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) scheme on all of their 07-08 models. Of course the package is designed to make the company’s motorcycles more accessible and affordable to a wider scope of riders. It’s quite unusual to offer such an incentive on former year models, proof that HD dealers still need to move a lot of 2007 bikes. To benefit from the deferred PCP package, Harley-Davidson customers will need to provide a minimum deposit of 15 %, while Buell customers will need to provide a 20% deposit.

Another financing gimmick to put more bikers in trouble paying their loans.

“Another financing gimmick to put more bikers in trouble paying their loans”
That is complete B.S.
No one is forcing anyone to commit to this “gimmick”.
Personal responsibility goes a long way, but the notion is lost on an increasing number of Americans.
What gimmick…?

I think gimmick means another trick to sell bikes to people who can’t really afford what they are buying.
Hmmm……
15%-20% down
Then ya make the payments.
Either you can afford it or ya can’t
Where’s the trick?
If by “really afford” you mean “unrealistic budgeting”
then we’re talking about a whole other problem and it ain’t HD’s.
