Anita Kohler and Peter Penz are life and business partners at Penz Custombikes in Austria. They specialize in fancy & rock solid frames that I have used on my customs and also sold with success in the United States. One year ago they sent me the 1st pictures of their Tiki frame (Softail and Rigid versions) featuring a very cool curved twisted downtube. Not sure how they imagined this one. Maybe after sipping quite a few loads of exotic rum punches, refurbishing their offices with rattan furniture, wearing flower leis in their hair and dressing with brightly colored fabrics. You know, Austria winters can be very cold… Anyway, they had to promote this new frame by building a bike and Anita decided that she would show the world (and partner Peter), what she can do (and you too) wth it. Here the result. A Polynesia theme chopper called “Rocksteady” whose fabrication details are inspired by the tikis, these large humanoid carvings used to mark the boundaries of sacred sites. Here the shortened tech sheet. Penz Tiki frame with 1" out, 6" up, 42-degree of rake with twisted single downtube. S&S engine 93". Jeri Springer front end upside down (springs at bottom) 14"over. Baker/S&S 6in4 transmission, hand shift. Black rim American Wire Spoke wheels, 21 x 2.15" front, 18 x 8" rear, Kustom Tech Controls (black & gold), Belt Drive 2" open belt system. Seat (gorgeous) by Armin Dobstetter, etc. More in English at Penz Custom Bikes (photography Gerd Scheidel/Studio 1/Germany)
Anita that is a beautiful kolor of GREEN. Hmmm, reminds me of a knucklehead that you like which resides in my garage. Paint wise that is. VERY KOOL BIKE!
A chopper for each woman = End of motorcycle industry recession.
Have chopper, will ride with you Anita.
I am impressed by the seat and the tiki velocity stack (?)
If she built it herself, congrats. That’s great. Can they ride chops legally in Austria?
Cyril – I would like to congratulate you on having the best blog around — always informative, as well as easy and entertaining to read. Clement Salvadori. Atascadero CA
I must also add that Anita is a very nice person who is very into motorcycles. Shoot me an e-mail Anita. SAM
Hi Cyril,
Just catching up on some reading for a change and thought I would say hey. I recognized the Tiki frame right away from the day I visited your shop. Hope to catch up with you at Bike Week.
Mike
They didn’t make it to bikeweek last year, are they coming this year?
Cool frame. How much?
European frames are very high quality compared to US ones (even not talking about Chnese junk). Very tough legislation there in Europe. Frames are tested by government agency. But the price is way too high.
Anita’s hot!!!
The bike is hot. Any woman is sexier on a chop.
u knwo she’s happy getting to ride a chopper and sit on a happy face to lmao
