Sir Elton John Donates 120 Motorcycles

Motorcycles save lives. A lot of celebrities (Richard Branson from Virgin Air was the 1st one) are giving motorcycles to doctors and medical personnel working in Africa to help them access remote areas where cars can’t be used. Sir Elton John just did it and donated 120 motorcycles to doctors in Lesotho (a small country surrounded by South Africa) to help them go about their daily rounds. “We want to improve the transport system by bringing health care to millions of people living in the most rural areas and thus making a difference in their lives,” Sir Elton John said. The five-year program is being run in cooperation with the government, which will help maintain the bikes and instruct medical personnel in riding them.

What a great idea! Is there more info on the foundation! Website or source of the story? Would love to help and get a bike donated maybe with customized baggage compartment for the doctor’s supplies. I am seeing a trike with a little flare and ability to handle the rough terrain. May be Vinnie and Cody at could sponsor the bike build?

Any one with knowledge of info about the charity or the doctors receiving the bike pleases reply.

Cyril, I have to say I am hooked on your Blog. Keep up the good work.

PS Call me and let’s set up a time you can visit with Vinnie and Cody at Daytona Bike Week. The “Inaugural Bike” will be on display the entire event.

Bartuucci, you sound like a person with a good heart!, I don’t think custom builds are what their looking for tho. I only wish these Billionaires and our own Government would help the Elderly, the Veterans with disabilities and the plain Disabled, and homeless in our own Country FIRST, then if we can, we will help other Countries. And lastly if Our Government doesn’t want to help their own Americans !, at Least give each and every one in America A Custom Motorcycle Built in America By Americans for Americans so we can ride in style to our favorite Intersection everyday, and humbly hold our signs saying ” Please Help I need a beer and a line “..
