At Harley-Davidson in Springettsbury Township the temporary layoffs are in addition to Harley’s planned shutdown from June 30 through July 3. The exact number of layoffs for the week beginning Monday is not known. Harley said in April that more layoffs were on the table for the future (like the one it ordered for 4 days in fall 2007when the Springettsbury Township facility shut down to cut production). The company also said in April that it would permanently cut about 300 workers from the Springettsbury operation, in addition to another 70 production workers in Milwaukee and elsewhere. Harley also plans to cut about 360 nonproduction workers company wide. The company said it hopes to make most of the workforce reductions with early retirees.

They built the new 1200 for Europe and this is their reward.

Good for them, all the new bikes they have been putting out lately are quite gay looking.Point being the new cross bones.Single cam evos will go down as the best motor HD has ever made.Twin cam Swim cam they are not REAL
I like the older Harley’s as well. This is a scary thing to see Harley Davidson is laying off 77 people. A sign of the times we are living in. Not many people have extra cash to buy a bike or buy custom parts…heck, we are lucky if we have money to fill up our bikes gas tank.
