There are a few motorcycle part manufacturers and magazines who decided to relocate around Sturgis. The latest move is by Samson Motorcycle Products, a leader of custom exhaust systems. Ground will be broken for its new manufacturing plant in the Sturgis Industrial Park, Monday, July 28 at 11 am. “The public is invited to the ceremony” said Norma Allen, Sturgis Economic Development Corp. executive coordinator. The Samson Sturgis plant will be 40,000 square foot, and is located in a new industrial park’s where the company will be the first motorcycle parts manufacturer. The plant site is the first lot on the right on Industry Road in the industrial park, which is located about a mile west on Whitewood Road from I-90 exit 30. This has been in the works for a couple of years now.
Gia, FYI: There is no business in Sturgis except when the rally is underway!
Kenny is making the move to avoid the extreme Workers Comp Taxes, State Income Taxes and Labor Rates in California, in short the cost of doing business in California.
Least we mention the economic development package he received from the City of Sturgis and the State of South Dakota. His labor costs will plummet in South Dakota over what they were in California. What is the old saying: It is better to be a big fish in a little barrel than a big fish in a small barrel. Samson will be the big fish in the barrel now.
Kenny and his company are a first class operation and they will do well in South Dakota.
South Dakota, East Dakota, whatever Dakota……
It in the USA… That’s the main issue.
And if the CA “Governator” can yank he head out-a where the sun don’t shine he might get the message that Universal Health care and Global Warming isn’t his job. His job is keeping jobs in his state.

The Rally enhances our community in many ways, and having the ability to draw a motorcycle industry professional the caliber of Kenny Price is certainly one. We are extremely pleased that Kenny has made the choice to relocate his company to Sturgis.
