Halloween Masks. Obama Wins. And The Election?

If sales of Halloween Masks could predict the result of the Presidential election, Obama would easily win. At least it proves something. People prefer to look like Obama than McCain. Or maybe Obama is more scary than McCain. Or…But did you notice that the percentages for each candidate mask are very close to the ones published in official tracking polls. My favorite one is when high schools make (anonymously) teenagers vote during class just 1 week before election day. Since they mostly “vote” like their parents, it’s a very good indicator of what will be the result on November 4th.  And no, I will not tell you for who I am going to vote because it has nothing to do with custom motorcycles. Nor this post…

You might not say who you’re voting for but I am for the lesser of two evils (McCain). You think that the economy is garbage now, get Obama in there and find out how much worse it will be. The Repubs aren’t off the hook either, they are just as guilty for letting things get as bad as well. They had 10+ years (for which they owned both houses) to do the right thing and failed, business as usual. That is why they got voted out. The Dems haven’t done any better either.

  2. 2 Me Oct 5th, 2008 at 1:21 pm

Say no to the most corrupt Republican administration. Vote for intelligence and honesty. Vote Obama.

  3. 3 Riding High Oct 5th, 2008 at 1:29 pm

As of today, Obama is increasing his lead. So be ready for the republican lies machine to start spitting negative rumors and comments on Obama. Help your country. Vote Barack Obama.

  4. 4 harry Oct 5th, 2008 at 3:21 pm

Don’t know about you two (Me & Riding High); but the third-party option is looking better everyday. Don’t care what anyone else says, the Dems and Republicans are both selling the American Citizens up the river.

  5. 5 harry Oct 5th, 2008 at 3:23 pm

After this election, that is how I’ll be going but I do stand by my first comment. Damage control now, fix the problem later…

  6. 6 Don Oct 5th, 2008 at 6:23 pm

McCain smear tactics are despicable. Support the candidate speaking the truth and not launching negative attacks against its opponent. Obama.must be the next president or the country is going to get much worse..

  7. 7 Nitrous Phil Oct 5th, 2008 at 6:53 pm

I think the both of them should have Bozo the Clown mask.

  8. 8 John Oct 6th, 2008 at 12:01 am

You Obama supporters are idiots!!! How can you vote for somebody who is going to raise taxes in a time like this? How can you vote for somebody who has no experience to lead this country? How can you vote for somebody who was the second highest person to receive money from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac behind Dudd, I mean Dodd…. The same guy whose Financial Advisors took like $25 million from these companies after cooking the books to do so….A guy who has never taken a stand on a single important issue while a Senator, only voting “present”….. You need to stop drinking the liberal medias Kool Aid?

The economy is important in this election but is only an issue now b/c the Democratic lead idiot congress blocked legislation to make the lending practices in this country more transparent. Legislation introduced by Republicans b/c they knew that the affirmative action lending brought on by the idiot Barney Frank and the Dems would do exactly what it is doing today!!!!! Yes, the economy is important but the security of this nation is our top priority….Have we forgotten 9/11???? John McCain is the one who will keep this country safe…Period!

  9. 9 Don Oct 6th, 2008 at 6:59 am

John. Problem is that your allegations about Obama are all false. Go to checkfacts.org. Republicans lies work very well with a lot of people like you. But still Obama will win.

  10. 10 Rodent Oct 6th, 2008 at 8:19 am

We’re screwed no matter who loses.

  11. 11 Slag Oct 6th, 2008 at 8:47 am

I still beleive in America, the American Flag, the National Anthem. Most people with some knowlwdge of Obama is well aware of what he stands for and that he is not a true American.
    STARS AND STRIPS FOREVER.

  12. 12 Jo Brennard Oct 6th, 2008 at 8:53 am

Slag. What is a true American? Your definition?? Why Obama is not a true American???

  13. 13 David Gross Oct 6th, 2008 at 9:00 am

If you make less than $250,000, are retiree, want the end of the war in Iraq, want to win in Afghanistan against the Taliban, want to remove corruption from Wall Street, have a decent healthcare system, you are better off voting for Obama.

  14. 14 Slag Oct 6th, 2008 at 9:29 am

Obama has been asked repeatedly to present a copy of his birth
certificate. Obama has refused to supply a copy of his birth
certificate. Kenyan-born Obama. He refuses to to place his hand over his heart when National Anthem is played, refuses to wear the US Flag lapel pin, and has stated that the National Anthem is offensive. By the way Iran has daily prayers that Obama will be the next US president.

  15. 15 Lee Wimmer Oct 6th, 2008 at 9:34 am

While I will admit Mc Cain is not the best we could have, by far we will be much better off with him. Everyone is so fed up with the war, the economy and general state of affairs. However to believe in the fairytales of Obama is just insane. He is only telling all you sheep what he wants you to believe. For one minuet do you really thing he can deliver? Half of the problems we have are BECAUSE of the democratic party to begin with. it’s just that it took time for it all to fall apart and then we had a Republican pres. So gues what? it looks like he was at fault. If you thinmk things are bad now…..If Obama gets in you’ll all be dying to have things back to the “good old days” mark my words, the worst may be yet to happen.

  16. 16 June Murante Oct 6th, 2008 at 9:41 am

Well I know you really do care what I think but we all are in trouble no matter who wins. But I think we need to vote for John McCain we can’t afford to go backwards anymore than we are now. So let’s hope that our life gets better as far as I feel right now it sucks has anyone looked ate there 401K yet. All I can tell you is that I can not afford to lose any more money. I want to retire someday and enjoy my life and have some money for my grandchildren. So please whatever you do just make sure in your heart you feel like that you are voting for the right person. We can sit here all day and say this and that but nobody knows until they are in the White House and we need to wait and see what happens. Whoever wins let’s just keep our fingers crossed and pray that our life is going to get better.

  17. 17 David Gross Oct 6th, 2008 at 9:52 am

Slag. You are really dumb. Obama birth certificate. he never refused to show it. It’s public access. It’s everywhere reproduced on the web!!! He is as American than you & me. He is born in Hawai, 1st reason to be American. his mother is US citizen, 2nd reason to be American. “He refuses to to place his hand over his heart when National anthem is played”. False. Where did you see or read this? “He refuses to wear the US Flag lapel pin”. No, one time he didn’t wear it. So, what’s the big deal? Do you wear it today? You are a retarded Republican believing in all the junk info they throw at you.

  18. 18 Patrick simmers Oct 6th, 2008 at 10:02 am

    Mr Wimmer.

“For one minute do you really thing he can deliver (Obama)? YES, OF COURSE.

“Half of the problems we have are BECAUSE of the democratic party to begin with. it’s just that it took time for it all to fall apart and then we had a Republican pres” REALLY? LOL. CAN YOU JUSTIFY? Even the republican politicians never said this. You must know things that they don’t know. Waiting for your demonstration. Maybe McCain will find inspiration in your prose for a new smear tactic against the Democrats.

Vote Barack Obama, the only chance to save the country.

  19. 19 Tired of our leaders Oct 6th, 2008 at 10:04 am

I hope that we as Americans can somehow get through this election, and get on with our lives and make the people responsible for this bailout mess accountable, and by that I mean the uppper CEO’s that seem to think that they deserve the excessive amount of cash they still want even though they Failed in buisness dealings that were in some cases if not illegal, most certinly immoral….. and we are left to pay for this whole freekin mess??? BULLSHIT!!! So, vote the way you want, and if it makes you feel better by calling other people names perhaps you need to take a better look at yourself. It only makes you look a little less than intelligent.
I can understand that most of us feel very strongly about this election, but can’t understand why some of these same people get mad like little spoiled kids when things don’t go their way. Get over it and get on with your life in a positive way to voice your oppinion that you feel so strongly about.

  26. 26 Tired of our leaders Oct 6th, 2008 at 11:25 am

    Chris,
Read the papers! It was poor banking practice that has bankrupt America. Wasn’t it the Democrats who forced the banks to ease up on lending practices so everyone could own a home? Greedy banks and mortgage companies abused equity borrowing and granted loans without concern for ability to pay back. Bankers and Mortgage company executives who made those decisions should be jailed. That is what brought us down.

  27. 27 Tired of our leaders Oct 6th, 2008 at 11:28 am

    Thank Bill Clinton.

  28. 28 Danny Oct 6th, 2008 at 11:49 am

And who lowered interest rates to ridiculous levels? Greenspan under Bush. And who ropposed to regulations on Wall Street.? Republicans including McCain. And who said 2 weeks ago that the American economy was strong? McCain. McCain doesn’t get it. Obama understands. He will be the next President. Relief…But a lot of work front of him.

I am American and A Viet Nam Vet. I served with the USMC and you need to do some history study for sure. I have the scars and from that era and still beleive in my country and I oppose anyone ,any color, etc who is as anti American as Obama. This is my final say on the issue.

  30. 30 Roger Vega Oct 6th, 2008 at 11:57 am

McCain doesn’t know that real estate market is dead. So he decided to put one of his 15 houses for sale. Take a video tour by going to:
    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/08/21/AR2008082103691.html

Poor McCain. Fellow republicans, help this poor guy because he could foreclose Or maybe we should let him foreclose, then he will understand what americans are facing.

  31. 31 For Change Oct 6th, 2008 at 12:04 pm

Slag, you don’t answer the question “why do you think Obama is anti american”. Because you can’t. BTW remember that Bush found a way (thank u dad) to avoid doing his military obligations. Right? Very anti american

  32. 32 Legal Immigrat Oct 6th, 2008 at 12:16 pm

Danny: You are wrong! McCain did not say that our economy was strong. He said the fundamentals are strong. Look up the word fundamental and figure it out. But, don’t let the facts get in the way of your thinking.

It was the accounting schemes that were created at Fannie Mae that fueled the housing buble…. You can look it up, but dont let the facts get in the way of your thinking.

One candidate has made a career from running on change; the other candidate will use his career to bring change. Guess which one.

Both parties are like two buckets full of manure. I’ll chose the one with less manure in it.

*The Obamas discourage work in the private sector*. “*Don’t* go into
corporate America,” Michelle has exhorted youth. “Work for the
community. Be social workers.” Shun the “money culture,” Barack added.
“Individual salvation depends on *collective* salvation.”
    /(i.e.-Socialism)/

“If you commit to serving your community,” he pledged in his Denver
acceptance speech, “we will make sure you can afford a college
education.” *So, go through government to go to college, and then go
    back into government. */(i.e.-Communism)/

Many of today’s youth find the pitch attractive. “I may spend the *rest
of my life* trying to create social movement,” said Brian Coovert of the
Cincinnati chapter. “There is always going to be work to do. Until we
have a perfect country, *I’ll have a job*.”

Not all the recruits appreciate the PC indoctrination. “It was too
touchy-feely,” said Nelly Nieblas, 29, of the 2005 Los Angeles class.
“It’s a lot of talk about race, a lot of talk about sexism, a lot of
talk about homophobia, talk about -isms and phobias.”

One of those -isms is *”heterosexism,”* which a Public Allies training
seminar in Chicago describes as a *negative *byproduct of “capitalism,
white supremacy, patriarchy and male-dominated privilege.”

*The government now funds about half of Public Allies’ expenses through
Clinton’s AmeriCorps.* Obama wants to *fully fund it* and expand it into
a national program that some see costing $500 billion. “We’ve got to
have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as
strong, just as well-funded” as the military, he said.

The gall of it: The Obamas want to create a boot camp for radicals who
*hate the military* — and stick American taxpayers with the bill.

    Don,
you keep drinking that Kool Aid….

For all of you who like to blame Bush for our problems. The economy has been great up until this last few years. I wonder why??? Maybe because now that Congress is Democratic, and I might add, with only a single digit approval rating,.
Lee Wimmer made a great point above. The Dems have been trying to wreck the economy and the Bush presidency b/c they want all the great people of America to need their government. The Democratic leaders of today are only in it for their own self interests and political expediency.

Let’s look at the war in Iraq. Now, that we have established a battle ground/grounds, we have not had another attack on this country since 9/11. If Obama wins, we will pull out of Iraq. Iraq will become a safe haven again for terrorists. Which I’m sure will be helped along by Iran. The security of this nation will diminish and you will start to see more terrorist attacks on Americans across this globe and g-d forbid in this great country.

I will say again that the security of this nation is the top priority of this election. You Obama supporters take a good look at this. Can you really cast your vote for someone who doesn’t have you, your kids, and your families security as their main interest. I can tell you that John McCain does and will.

  40. 40 For Change Oct 6th, 2008 at 1:09 pm

There was no WMD in Iraq. There was no Al Quaeda in Iraq before the war. Terrorists are all over the world, not only in Afghanistan and Iraq now. The Taliban is winnig in Afghanistan. Iran was not a threat before the Iraq war. America can be safe with any president. You don’t fight terrorists with an army. Bush will go down history as one of the worst US presidents.

    This explains all :

In the last six months 292 have been murdered in Chicago.
Sens. Barack Obama & Dick Durbin, Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., Gov. Rod Blogojevich, House Speaker Mike Madigan, Atty. Gen. Lisa Madigan & Mayor Richard Daley are the Democratic leadership in Illinois and all Democrats are, of course, blaming each other. They can’t blame Republicans; they’re aren’t any!

The state pension fund is $44 Billion in debt, worst in country.
Cook County (Chicago) sales tax is 10.25%, highest in country.
The Chicago school system one of the worst in country.
This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois….
and he’s ‘gonna fix Washington politics’?

  43. 43 Crash Oct 6th, 2008 at 1:21 pm

This is an uninterrupted 51-second video of Obama speaking; he’s telling us exactly what he will do to the military…watch it before this too is removed off the web site.
Pass it on…the USA needs a Wake-up call.

In 2007, in a public speech Obama warned of the risk of a subprime mortgage meltdown. McCain voted 20 times against Wall Street regulations. McCain states that Obama wants to tax more all people making more than $42,000. Big lie that he repeats ober and over. The truth: Obama wants to reduce taxes on all people making less than $250,000 (95% of people), with no taxes on retirees receiving less than $50,000. Eliminate the liar. Vote Obama.

  53. 53 Legal Immigrant Oct 6th, 2008 at 4:29 pm

Brandon, show the article(s) where he warns of the crisis in 2007.

Also, how can you give 95% of the people tax breaks when 40% of those pay 0% tax? Show me how the numbers work?

  54. 54 Rhoades Oct 6th, 2008 at 4:30 pm

It scares the living crap out of me that there are so many people that visit this Blog that truly believe Obama is the answer to everyones problems! As fellow bikers, we all love the freedom that a motorcycle allows us. We hate when someone in the government tells us to wear helmets or that our pipes are too load. What do you think the Socialist thinking Obama is going do do? He is for more government which means – more laws which means less freedom!! Freedom is what makes our Great Country better than the rest. The single reason more people want to live here than any other country on the Planet!!!

Now some facts: The financial situation we are currently in was caused by the Government Forced (Clinton administration) lowering of the standards for home mortgages. They believed that all Americans should have the right to own a home….responsible or not! Congressmen B. Frank (D) from Mass and Senator Dodd (D) from Conn were some of the biggest supporters of this new lending practices. So were the major Mortgage banks, the ones that are currently failing or have already failed. One bank, CountryWide, now owned by B of A even gave Senator Dodd a special lower than normal home mortgage loan on his personal residence!!! These banks along with investment firms on wall street were making a killing because so many more people were able to purchase homes because of the lower qualification standards. How was any of this Bush’s fault? The Republicans tried numerous times to increase the oversight of these lending institutes but were unsuccesful because of the lies etc from B. Frank and Dodd who up until last year made statements in front of Congress that everything was OK. And by the way, Obama has had his hands in this since his early days as an “City Organizer”. He Organized along With ACORN (look it up folks) the push to make Banks lower there lending standards so “poor” people can own houses too. Please read up on what caused this mess and quit listening to the main stream media!!!

Next: As a second generation Small Business Owner (Company Started in 1972 / fabrication-machine shop) the one organization I belong to is the NFIB – National Federation of Indepenent Business. This group, with the best interest of the small business owners, lobbies for issues that are important to us…I’m to busy trying to earn a living to do this!!! Each year they award any State Senator who has voted at least 70% in favor of the main issuse facing small business owners. Rising energy costs, health care, taxes etc. Obama & Biden didn’t win the award! In the last 2 seasons of Congress – Obama 50% & 13%. Biden 56% & 25%. McCain 100% & 100%!!!!!!! Small businesses are the backbone of this Great Nation. We employ more workers than anyone else. You put more regulations on us and we cannot survive.

Please, Please, Please you Obama supporters, put your hate for George Bush aside and learn the real facts and what a Obama/Biden ticket will do to this Country. And for any of you who think all your problems will go away with any new elected official, you need to get off the couch and take a good look in the mirrior….that is the only person you can count on to do something for you!!! Not the Government!!!!

I have to get back to work on the American Made Machines that I was able to purchase because of the Bush Tax Cuts – excelerated depreciation – which allowed us to compete better with China and hire more American Workers etc etc etc.

    WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

FRANKLIN RAINES? Raines works for the Obama Campaign as Chief Economic Advisor

TIM HOWARD? Howard is also a Chief Economic Advisor to Obama

JIM JOHNSON? Johnson hired as a Senior Obama Finance Advisor and was

IF OBAMA PLANS ON CLEANING UP THE MESS – HIS ADVISORS HAVE THE EXPERTISE- THEY MADE THE MESS IN THE FIRST PLACE.

How many of you bikers like and beleive in the freedom to own and carry a firearm? How many of you bikers want the freedom to ride without a helmet? How many of you bikers want the freedom to to install louder pipes on your bike ? How many of you bikers are tired of the freedoms you have left ? If your tired of any of these freedoms then vote Hussian Obama.

Oct 06, 08. Obama widens lead in national poll. Barack Obama has widened his lead over John McCain to 8 points in the race for the White House, according to a new CNN/Opinion Research poll. The survey suggests that the country’s financial crisis, record low approval ratings for President Bush and a drop in the public’s perception of McCain’s running mate could be contributing to Obama’s gains.

Someday* there could be a book/movie about what is happening this week in American Presidential politics….

The trust & confidence in the economy has never been weaker. There are very few alive that have seen the economy in worse conditions.

Consider the similarities in the film (within the link below) to what has rapidly unravelled in the last month. It is not a coincidence that McCain’s campaign is not addressing the main issue that all of us are most concerned about.

*someday, modern technology will be put to use so that the Power of the People will be undeniable & verifiable. Public servants will be held accountable. Transparency will not get buried. Corporate crony-ism will be bankrupt. Investigative reporting will be honorable.

Watch tomorrow’s debate. Obama will want to talk about the economy. McCain will try to avoid the topic as much as possible. For evident reasons. Just watch the video recommended by Hoyt. Very interesting. Anyway, the next President will inherit a deep recession. Republicans should wish to lose this election, an opportunity for them to bitch during 4 years about the poor state of the economy and make Democrats responsible for what they created under Bush leadership.

    This is Very interesting

Now isn’t this something to think about!

If Barack Obama would apply for a job with the FBI or with

the Secret Service, he would be disqualified because of his

past association with William Ayers, a known terrorist activist.

If he is elected President he would not qualify to be his

Ayers was a radical anti-war. Obama was 7 years old when the movement “weather underground” was active. Obama and Ayers, 40 years later, worked together to raise 5 million dollars for Charity, Schools, etc. Beautiful. Does it make Obama a terrorist. Of course not. Ayers is a College Prof, was never condemned, and Obama stated he was against his ctions 40 years ago. You listen too much to republican crap. They are losing the election and they know. So, they do negative personal attacks (by the way McCain stated 12 months ago that he will never do any personal negative attacks against its opponent during the presidential campaign! Another lie). What about MCCain and the “Keating 5” scandal about the Saving & Loan debacle? Sound familiar with what’s happening now in Wall Street?. Mc Cain is losing on the economy, health insurance, war, etc. So, let’s change the topics and fabricate dirt on Obama. It’s the way republicans win some elections, or lose them. Obama is too smart for McCain & Palin. Zip it and watch the debate.

This is taken from Wikipedia the free encyclopedia:

    Connection to Barack Obama
    Main article: Obama–Ayers controversy
Bill Ayers and Barack Obama have been linked during their time in the city of Chicago, where they lived three blocks apart and led charges for education reform in the state of Illinois. The two met “at a luncheon meeting about school reform in a Chicago skyscraper.”[40] Obama was then named to the Chicago Annenberg Project board to oversee the distribution of grants in Chicago. Later in 1995, Ayers hosted “a coffee” for “Mr. Obama’s first run for office.”[41] The two served together on a community anti-poverty group, the Woods Fund of Chicago, between 2000 and 2002, during which time the board met twelve times.[41] Ayers also contributed $200 to Obama’s re-election fund to the Illinois State Senate in April 2001.”[40] Since 2002, there has been little linking Obama and Ayers.[41] Obama says he has not visited Ayers during the presidential campaign. The senator said in September 2008 that he hadn’t “seen him in a year-and-a-half.”[42] In February 2008, Obama spokesman Bill Burton released a statement from the senator about the relationship between the two: “Senator Obama strongly condemns the violent actions of the Weathermen group, as he does all acts of violence. But he was an eight-year-old child when Ayers and the Weathermen were active, and any attempt to connect Obama with events of almost forty years ago is ridiculous.”[40] CNN’s review of project records found nothing to suggest anything inappropriate in the volunteer projects in which the two men were involved.[43] Internal reviews by The New York Times, The Washington Post, Time magazine, The Chicago Sun-Times, The New Yorker and The New Republic “have said that their reporting doesn’t support the idea that Obama and Ayers had a close relationship.”[44]

I don’t wast my time watching silly assed debates.

You are ignorant of politics and don’t know how to make a search inside a website!.

Obama introduced legislation 1 year ago. .

“Obama has been closely monitoring the subprime mortgage situation for years, and introduced comprehensive legislation over a year ago to fight mortgage fraud and protect consumers against abusive lending practices. Obama’s STOP FRAUD Act provides the first federal definition of mortgage fraud, increases funding for federal and state law enforcement programs, creates new criminal penalties for mortgage professionals found guilty of fraud, and requires industry insiders to report suspicious activity”.

I have the full text of the Obama introduced legislation 1 year ago, but it seems that I can’t copy it here because it has limited space in this window and my “comment” of many pages is rejected because too long.

So, I give you a another hint. Go to the Senate website. It’s there. Can you find it or do you need more computer assistance?.

Here are the summary notes of McCain’s mindset when it comes to protecting American financial interests:

    1. Charles Keating was the chief of Lincoln Savings and Loan

    2. He severely violated the “No Direct Investment” law regarding Savings & Loans which resulted in tax payers paying $3.4 billion stemming from this fraud (that figure is in 1990 dollars)

    3. John McCain was one of 5 senators who had written letters to Washington DC and, believe it or not, actually met with Federal Regulators to ask them to not enforce the Direct Investment Rule against Keating’s Lincoln Savings & Loan.

These meetings were after the fact that regulators were already onto the scandal and Controlled Fraud. “Controlled Fraud” – fraud that is carried out against a company and perpetrated by the very person in charge of the same organization.

    4. As William Black, a PhD & Federal Regulator during this time, points out in the film, the actions taken by McCain & the other 4 senators were analogous to them going to the police (after the police already knew of the crime) and asking the police to do nothing !

    5. March 25th 2008 – just 6 months ago, John McCain states,

“….our financial market approach should include encouraging increased capital in FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS by REMOVING REGULATORY ACCOUNTING…”

    6. McCain – as a fairly new senator (during the time of the Keating fraud) did not show the balls to stand up for what is right. He should have been forced into other careers much less elected to public office again. But so be it, he was elected. Let him prove himself…..what is the result? 18 years later, he demonstrates he not only did not learn any lesson but he is also oblivious & naive to what happens when de-regulation occurs pertaining to the financial sector.

    ——-

Palin would have done well by passing on McCain’s nomination offer to rid herself of any association to McCain. There is no reform ability in McCain. He even signed the Bailout bill that contains pork barrel provisions that he so adamantly claims to be against. Again, he is clueless in regard to financial matters. Glen Beck even said it was a bad move for him to sign that bill.

    ——-

Has Obama worked with Ayers on anything more radical than building schools and promoting peaceful toys for children?

There is no guilt by association when it comes to Ayers’ violent past. Obama shows he can work with people and produce positive results — how’s that for you desperate spin doctors?

In doing so that could thereby free up CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, Larry King and the Hollywood so they could start the coverage of the Blacks in this country rioting in the ghettos of all the major cities in America ….. their reasoning for rioting ???? Naturally the White man has stolen yet another election from them! Why everyone knows Bush did it against Gore and Kerry and now Osama Obama so they therefore demand reparation for their metal anguish and dashed hopes or they will continue burning and looting their own neighborhoods. Oprah will need to increase her levels of Prozac and indulge in massive amount of cheesecake to dull her losses; Rosie will be suicidal (great!) and hopefully will carry through this time with her “If Bush is elected I will move to France” comment of the last election and best of all Osama Obama could have a Dr. Phil type show produced by Oprah. The five senators, Alan Cranston (D-CA), Dennis DeConcini (D-AZ), John Glenn (D-OH), John McCain (R-AZ), and Donald W. Riegle (D-MI), were accused of improperly intervening in 1987 on behalf of Charles H. Keating, Jr., chairman of the Lincoln Savings and Loan Association.

Let’s break it down like this.

    Negatives in each candidates columns.

    McCain.

Keating. If we are going to live in the World of “Guilty by Association”, than this has to be a negative for McCain. Keating was a family friend of Cindy McCains family (Hensley ‘s – who by the way own the Budweiser distributor in AZ…which should be a PLUS in McCains column!!!) No doubt about it, Keating was a crook and a total Jackass.

Immigration Policy. I think his view sucks and I live in AZ. I cannot understand why he reached accross party lines and tried to get a amnesty bill approved along with Ted “Drunken Murderer” Kenedy.

    Uh that’s pretty much it.

    OBAMA.

Ayers. Hoyt, if you are going to live in the World of “Guilty by Association”, than this has to be a negative in Obama’s Column. Ayers is an admitted terrorist! I don’t care if it was last year or 30 years ago. He does not like this Great Country and pollutes the minds of College students with his Socialist Views. Let’s just say Ayers cancels out Keating….fair?

Rev. Wright. “Guilty By Association” We all know Rev. Wright is a RACIST and how many years did Obama attend his Church? Never once did he hear Rev. Wright’s hate speaches???

ACORN. A very radical, very left wing organization that no Business or Politician wants on there bad side! They will hire “community organizers” to picket outside with large inflatable RATS to “Bully” there position. Obama as a “Community Organizer” was hired by ACORN to train there staff. ACORN – please Google it and read about it. It has done nothing but bad. “Guilty By Association”

One of the Most Liberal Senators if not the most Liberal Senator in Congress. This does not show he has any desire to be Bipartisan

Wants to increase Government. Unless you work for the Government, This is not good!!!!

Wants to increase Taxes! However you want to spin this, he is for increasing Taxes. Do you honestly think that if Obama gets into office that he will keep his promise not to raise taxes on the “middle class” The definition of “middle class” will somehow change and become so complicated that a new Government Agency will have to be formed. Anyone who is for raising taxes will raise taxes anywhere they can! Current Tax payers or what I like to call “Responsible People” no matter what “class” they are in will see an increase in taxes. It has always been and will always be the Democrats policy to take from the “Responsible” and give to the “Irresponsible”

Free Health Care for everyone. Wait who is going to pay for this? And do we really want the Government running the Health Care System? Have you been to the DMV lately? Imagine that as your Doctors office… We already have “Free” Health Care in I think all states. Here in AZ it is called ACCESS. I, as a AZ taxpayer pay a portion of it through increased taxes!!!

Timeline for a pull out in IRAQ. When the actual people on the fround in IRAQ feel it is time to get out then we will get out. Some jackass in Washington should not make that decision…PERIOD!

Wants to increase our Foreign Spending. In one breath he bags on the Republicans for spending soo much money in IRAQ & AFGANISTAN to rebuild their countries and in the next breath wants to hand out more money to other Nations???

No executive experience. Community Organizer does not count. Do you think any Fortune 500 Company would hire Obama for a CEO position based on his qualifications? And you want him to lead this Nation???

Did not serve in the Military.

His “Financial Advisors” all had their hands in the current economic situation.

I may be mistaken, but I have not seen any “Biker’s For Obama” stickers!!!!!!

Joe Biden! At least McCain picked Palin! Not only is she HOT!!! but she rides a HARLEY!!!!!!

I could go on and on and I’m sure HOYT, BRANDON, J. MASSEY would like to add some negatives to McCains column.

The moral of my story is Obama has no business being the next President of this Great Nation. Not because he is Half Black, Half White, Half Muslim, Half Whatever, Democrat or Liberal. He is just plain wrong to be the next President. PERIOD!

If you would, Hoyt, Brandon, J Massey and any other Obama supporter on this blog, please tell me what you do for a living and what the Bush Administration the last 8 years has done to you personally that makes you hate it sooooo bad. I really would like to know your story and why you think Obama is the better choice.

Obama Reintroduces Legislation on Mortgage Fraud
    Wednesday, April 25, 2007

    From Reuters

WASHINGTON – Illinois Senator Barack Obama introduced legislation Wednesday that would set a national standard for mortgage fraud and outline penalties for fraudsters.

In a statement, the Illinois Democrat and presidential hopeful said the legislation was needed as the housing market is shaken by failed mortgages among subprime borrowers with damaged credit.

“As the number of foreclosures skyrockets and the housing market becomes more vulnerable, we must establish stiff penalties to deter fraud and protect consumers against abusive lending practices,” Obama said.

Obama introduced a version of the same bill in the last Congress in February 2006 but it made no headway in the Republican-controlled legislature.

The new legislation, co-sponsored by fellow Illinois Democrat Sen. Richard Durbin, would target anyone who uses false information to secure a property or sell a mortgage product.

It would require brokers, attorneys, lenders and other agents to report suspected fraud to the Secretary of the Treasury. Another feature would offer $25 million in mortgage fraud counseling to prospective and current homebuyers.

STOP FRAUD Act would protect homeowners against fraudulent and predatory lending practices, help insulate housing market

WASHINGTON, DC — On the heels of reports that the housing market experienced its worst sales-month in 18 years and foreclosures are up 47% compared to last year, Senators Barack Obama (D-IL) and Dick Durbin (D-IL) today reintroduced the STOP FRAUD Act, legislation that combats mortgage fraud and abuse. In less than five years, there has been a 137 percent increase in the number of cases of mortgage fraud and abuse being investigated by the FBI.

“Mortgage fraud and abuse are costing thousands of Americans their hard-earned life savings and their dream of homeownership,” said Senator Obama. “As the number of foreclosures skyrocket and the housing market becomes more vulnerable, we must establish stiff penalties to deter fraud and protect consumers against abusive lending practices.”

“Mortgage fraud is a growing problem across the country,” said Senator Durbin. “Too many people in my home state of Illinois have been victims of abusive, misleading, and confusing lending practices. It is time that legislators step forward with a federal definition of mortgage fraud. The STOP FRAUD Act not only authorizes strict penalties to those who violate this definition but also empowers consumers with the tools they need to make informed decisions.”

The STOP FRAUD Act, which is aimed at stopping mortgage transactions that promote fraud, risk, abuse and underdevelopment, will provide the first federal definition of mortgage fraud and authorize stiff criminal penalties against fraudsters. STOP FRAUD requires a wide range of mortgage professionals to report suspected fraudulent activity, and gives these same professionals safe harbor from liability when they report suspicious incidents. It also authorizes several grant programs to help state and local law enforcement fight fraud, provide the mortgage industry with updates on fraud trends, and further support the Departments of Treasury, Justice and Housing and Urban Development’s fraud-fighting efforts.

At a time when many homeowners are concerned about losing their home to foreclosure, and policymakers are worried about fraudulent, deceptive, and confusing lending practices that are roiling communities across the country, STOP FRAUD provides $25 million for housing counseling. The Department of Housing and Urban Development will contract with public or private organization to provide information, advice, counseling, and technical assistance to tenants, homeowners, and other consumers with respect to mortgage fraud and other activities that are likely to increase the risk of foreclosure.

The Act also protects the legal rights of borrowers with risky, subprime loans. The greatest growth in the mortgage lending market is in subprime loans and some have estimated that more than 2 million homeowners with subprime mortgages are at risk of losing their homes. If a borrower receives a subprime mortgage with any one of several high-risk characteristics, the Act protects the rights of borrowers to challenge lending practices in foreclosure proceedings. The high-risk characteristics targeted by this Act include loans for which the borrower does not have the ability to repay at the maximum rate of interest, loans whose true long-term costs are not clearly disclosed to the borrower, stated-income and no-documentation loans, and loans with unreasonable prepayment penalties.

The fact is we are not going to solve this going back and forth. We all know who is on what side of the fence for this election. The question for Obama supporters is this, can you really, whole heartedly sit in your chair and be 100% positive that Obama is the right choice for the security of this nation? If so, I ask you to look at the details laid out in his plan to decrease our military spending, thus lowering the size of our military. Is this really what this country needs right now? Especially, as bold as Russia has gotten lately. I personally feel the economy will work itself out whomever is elected but the security of this nation will not and I want my children to have the freedoms that I have enjoyed thus far.
If not, then you know what to do in November.

  103. 103 Brandon Oct 7th, 2008 at 6:33 pm

Legal Immigrant understands nothing about the politics of his new country.

  104. 104 Gary Oct 7th, 2008 at 6:41 pm

We don’t need more military. We need more and better diplomacy. Republicans strategy is based on fear to justify an unjustified war in Iraq. The country needs good borders protection but don’t need more military. Better intelligence is what America needs. Regarding McCain, to be a vet doesn’t make you a good commander in chief or a good president. A President just need to be honest with fast and good judgment. The opposite of Bush.

    Jeff,
Did I write( assassination ) when I asked how long would Obama live if elected ? Whether you know it or not his daddy died early because he had become alcoholic ,had two iron legs from a drunken accident and died from a drunken driving accident. Now Obama is a heavy smoker himself and hits the juice also. Should Obama die in office that makes Biden the pres and the new vice pres most likely will be none other than Pelosi. Yes by the yr 2012 and it will be too late to salvage what’s left of America. I agree with you Jeff, let’s hope Obama doesn’t win in Nov. I beleive one thig is for certian…who ever is elected in Nov. will only be in office for (one) term.

  106. 106 hoyt Oct 7th, 2008 at 7:53 pm

    John –

    Consider this staggering irony:

Al Queda attacked the Pentagon without an air force !

repeat: An “army” of terrorists attacked the HQ of the strongest military in the world on its own soil without an air force!

    They found other ways….and cheap!

The Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld invasion did not find other ways.

Outsmarting the bastards with might, money, and brains is the only way to fight this perpetual battle.

Furthermore, consider financial dangers to our security:

$10 billion/month in an Iraq Invasion is hurting the US from within.
De-regulation in the financial sector and corporate greed (among other factors) are hurting us from within.

Teddy Roosevelt believed the USA would never be destroyed by a foreign enemy but he warned that the Bill of Rights & our Constitution would be subverted by “malefactors of great wealth”.

Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War stated that he “…had the south in front of him, and the bankers behind him. For my country, I fear the bankers more.”

    Very pertinent to this day.

This does not suggest Obama will be (or Lincoln & Roosevelt were) weak on national security in a military sense.

  107. 107 hoyt Oct 7th, 2008 at 8:00 pm

John – how large was our military leading up to Sept. 11th, 2001? During the days Bush set the record for most vacation days of any sitting US President in the shortest timeframe.

    We have not forgotten.

  108. 108 Gary Oct 7th, 2008 at 8:05 pm

    Roundman

“Obama is a heavy smoker himself and hits the juice also”. LIE. He was a light smoker and stopped 1 1/2 y ears ago. He doesn’t drink. at all. Never did.

Why Obama would not do 2 terms? Because of age, it’s more probable than McCain

    You don’t sound very smart.

  109. 109 Brandon Oct 7th, 2008 at 8:08 pm

Now that he is proven wrong about Obama’s fraud legislation, Legal Immigrant is shutting up. Excellent.

  110. 110 Roundman Oct 7th, 2008 at 8:42 pm

    Gary,
your words are WRONG. And the statement (We need more and better diplomacy) sound like words from a moron. You do not sit down with terriorists and negotiate. What you been smokin ?

  111. 111 Rhoades Oct 7th, 2008 at 8:48 pm

    John Elms,

If it is in fact true that Palin does not ride, my bad. A close friend and a Alaskan developer told me that both Sarah and Todd owned Harleys. You have to admit she did look good in that photo…and at least she wasn’t sitting on a Vespa! So I retract that statement and say She is a lifelong card carrying member of the NRA. You seem to know alot about both Obama and Biden, are they members of the NRA?

Hoyt, you missed my point. I was just saying if what Obama did and who he associated with way back when does not matter today, then why does it matter so much to you, what McCain may or may not have done way back when, today???? I tell you what, I’ll give you 3 to 1. You cancel out the whole Keating “5” with McCain and I’ll cancel out Rev Wright, Ayers and ACORN with Obama. Deal? Now lets move on.

Do you think it is possible that Obama came up with the Stop Fraud Act to cover his ass? He planned on running for President and really needed to show that he was doing something….

The Stop Fraud Act only addressed a portion of what has caused this current mess. Predatory lending practices are just a piece of the puzzle. It’s a fact that Obama spent a great deal of energy to get the Mortgage Qualification Standards lowered. He should of, along with anyone that was pushing for the standards to be lowered, been educating these lower income families and first time home buyers on the Predators that were waiting to screw them out of their hard earned money. Remember, no one held a gun to these buyers heads and made them sign the papers. Everyone in this Country needs to be responsible for there own actions! What I’m saying is we all need to take a test to get our drivers license..so why did so many people walk into the single largest purchase of their life without any knowledge of how it all works??? If the Dems cared so much about these people, why didn’t they do something about this way back during the Clinton Adm? Who’s best interest did it serve? I know Dodd did OK. And Barney Frank…his Gay lover sure benifited…..

Government oversight on Government run agencies such as Freddy & Fannie is needed. Government oversight on the private sector should be very very very limited. There is a huge difference so please do not lump McCains views on them into the same catagory.

  112. 112 dazed and confused Oct 7th, 2008 at 11:12 pm

Time for getting all you guys wound up! Ralph Nader for President ! ( remember the Monza!)

  113. 113 John Oct 8th, 2008 at 1:08 am

    Hoyt,
Obviously there are other factors involved with our national security than just a large military.
Though, a large technologically advanced military like ours is a nice deterrent.

On 9/11 we were attacked by cowards who could not face us or take responsibility for the attack b/c of fear of reprisal.

You keep stating that the Iraq war was unjust, so let me ask you, where were you (politically not physically) after 9/11 happened?
Let me guess, sit around and do nothing b/c they don’t have an Air Force, right?
Or, we don’t have proof who did it, so we better not do anything, right? Let’s go ahead and do nothing and become like Israelis who live in fear of going to a market place b/c of suicide bombers.
Let’s go ahead and reduce our military and intelligence so we can become over run by radical extremism. I know Hoyt, your Obama is going to protect you right?

Quoting Hoyt, “De-regulation in the financial sector and corporate greed (among other factors) are hurting us from within.” You are right here, and your Obama is at the top of the list. Remember my first post? Obama was 2nd on the list receiving money from Fannie and Freddie. Your party voted against regulations republicans proposed on these companies with regard to their lending practices. Now, these CEO’s are Obamas Financial Advisors. Pretty damaging fact in my book pal.

  114. 114 John Oct 8th, 2008 at 1:24 am

    Hoyt,
If your an Obama supporter, I’m sure you were a Clinton supporter. So, let’s go back a little further. Clinton passed on detaining Bin Laden which would have de-railed 9/11 completely!

You keep supporting then Dems Hoyt…….

  115. 115 Gary Oct 8th, 2008 at 6:17 am

if you watched the debate you know that McCain was terrible, hesitant, looking incompetent and upset by the good answers of his opponent. All media outlets confirm that Obama won this crucial debate. Game over. New republican negative attacks will not change anything. Obama will be the next President. But what a job he will inherit. A depression for 5 to 10 years?

  116. 116 Karen Oct 8th, 2008 at 8:16 am

Gary, if you will back up and check history of previous debates you will discover that the candiates who were considered winners of the debates were the losers in the elections. Remember also, polls are for the losers.

  117. 117 Gary Oct 8th, 2008 at 8:28 am

Karen. For the reason you give, do you think that it’s on purpose that McCain lost the debate? LOL. Be ready for a new round of negative personal attacks against Obama. But it will not work because 1- people vote with their wallets 2- 70% of generation X & Y support Obama and they are not prejudiced like old farts republicans.

  118. 118 Tired of our Leaders Oct 8th, 2008 at 9:07 am

What concerns me is the thinking behind many of Obama’s followers.
A quote from Zip (earlier in this blog).
“The ethics of Communism still appeal to me”.

I think we need to raise some money for a flight to North Korea for good old Zip.

  119. 119 Gary Oct 8th, 2008 at 9:16 am

Mr tired of…. you misread. It’s not a quote from Zip but from Ayers, the anti-war activist of 40 years ago.

  120. 120 Tired of our Leaders Oct 8th, 2008 at 9:20 am

    Excuse me Zip.

  121. 121 LongKnife Oct 8th, 2008 at 9:40 am

Gary, your nothing more than a dumacrat that is out of touch. In November you can and will crawl back into your hole.

Long Knife. Idiot-Cracy must be your party.
