Breaking news. John Rhodes is already looking for a job. He applied for several bartender jobs and is available in november.

I feel really bad for the business owners in the area. They did nothing wrong, had to live by decisions made by others, and ultimately suffered the consequences for actions not their own.

We would consider returning to Myrtle Beach Bike Week as a vendor as long as the current policians are out, the police have a change of attitude (doing their jobs but not agressively and actively seeking bikers they could ticket and/or arrest) and the vendor fees return to reasonable levels (prior to this whole episode, they were getting close to “unreasonably” high).

Horry County is no bargain either. They said it is the city that made the bikers unwelcome not them. However, it was the county that raised vendor fees, spread the vendors out more, and reduced the number of days vendors could sell.

Myrtle is a long standing tradition. I remember going there 30 years ago. Sometimes change is good and sometimes it stinks!

Mayor Rhodes reminds me of Boss Hogg on the Dukes of Hazzards 🙂 Same looks, attitude and language.

I am wondering if he is a racist…….??

Like I have said all along …. take the money out of the picture and you will have the attention of the masses. Now maybe something will be accomplished in Myrtle Beach! I sincerely hope so!

I expected to see a sign on the Mayors desk that said “Stay Off My Grass”.

    Over & Out,

    Jeff

    I thought I was hearing things…..

I live in MD. I bought a new trailer from a place in GA. Yesterday I drove down to GA. This morning I picked up the trailer and I was on my way home listening to the radio in my truck (somewhere in NC) when an add came on. It was from the city of Myrtle Beach.

Basically it said…if you don’t wear a helmet, you will be arrested; if don’t wear eye protection, you will be arrested; if you wear a thong you will be arrested; if you have a party in a parking lot that is landscaped you will be arrested – not sure what the landscaping has to do with anything (there was more but this is all I can remember)…and finally it said “if you are looking for a bike week, there is none”.

    This city is crazy.

    This was on 107.7 WUKS

Let this be a warning to Sturgis, Daytona, Laconia, Galveston, Leesburg. You try screwing us and paybacks can be a bitch or a boycott. POWER TO THE BIKERS

When you get into their pocket books then you going to see some shaken going on. They don’t give a dam about tough talk and threats but because money talks, and when their money says bye,bye then they start to take serious notice.

I hope the business owners, bartenders, waitress/waiters, retailers, can make a difference and get the word out to bike week supporters to register to vote. Wish I could vote with you all. I’ve been traveling from NY almost 10 years to attend the Harley rally. Missed the great times at Broadway at the Beach, and the Dog House South this year. Hoping next year is better. Otherwise may consider pushing my vacation to September and attend the DelMarVa Bike Week in Maryland.

GET OUT THERE AND VOTE MB!!!

Some citizens are throwing Rhodes a “Thank You” Party on June 10. These will be the people that cost me $100,000 in sales. There are those of us sitting back, taking names, and those associated with the Mayor will have their business boycotted. The arrogance is stunning. It is time to spread the pain around a bit. Give us six months and business owners will have their city back. Those that thought they were immune will be towing the line as well. What comes around goes around.

Rhodes is a liar. He stated that he supported biker business and now wants to drive it out. He is worse than a racist. He is a bigot and proves it by targeting selective rules against specific groups.
